Took 4 months to get my car issue fixed. Warranty issue related to the Taycan battery. When I was finally notified to pick up my car. I found the wrap was severely damaged from sitting outside for 4 months in the extreme heat. Now I have to negotiate getting the wrap fixed and I was made to feel like the wrap was damaged when I brought it in after taking immaculate care of it! Still hoping the dealership will make it right. More

Taking my Porsche into the dealer for proper maintenance was my goal on August 7, 2023. The dealer did a yeoman’s job in replacing rear tires, alignment, installing a new battery and correcting the wheel ra was my goal on August 7, 2023. The dealer did a yeoman’s job in replacing rear tires, alignment, installing a new battery and correcting the wheel rash under the insurance protection I purchased initially from the dealer. I also had Porsche adjust the passenger window from breaking itself or the small triangular window when opening or closing the door. All these items were accomplished successfully. However, upon picking up my car the next day, I noticed that the passenger inside door panel (at the top next to window) was completely loose and not in keeping with the quality of interiors that Porsche should have. It was noted that the car was stored overnight outside where heat temperatures were extreme and the adhesive came loose. I was also told that this often occurred on other Porsche models but the newer models had used different glues resistant to this event. I was told that the panel cost about $800 plus labor! And even more troubling was that eventually, my drivers inside panel’s adhesive would probably have the same problem and expensive repair. Whether or not Porsche engineers had resolved the problem for newer models, how was I to know that this would possibly occur again and again with “new 2014” panels installed? I am dismayed that Porsche Quality Control does not have a RECALL on this problem as it has occurred on other models that used the same adhesive and heat impacted the panel’s cosmetic integrity. For me to hear that this would potentially ALSO occur to my driver’s door inside panel as well, I was totally flabbergasted that NO RECALL has occurred. If Porsche only wants a good public reputation for exterior design, reliable engines, etc without cockpit integrity, then Word of Mouth and negativity comes into play for these repeated problems. AutoNation should also respect and consider the consumer’s desire for upholding the reputation of the Porsche brand. In summary, I find it uterly unacceptable for me to carry the cost to repair or replace this panel or the other panel (should it disintegrate in the future) and that Porsche should correct this awful and ugly problem by fully resolving the problem for my Porsche Cayman. Porsche Hilton Head provided excellent service for my car yesterday. I live 45 minutes from the dealership, (before traffic) so having a courtesy pick up and delivery at the end of the day was so appreciate yesterday.
