Dishonest Dealership It's so true, that “Having Power You Don’t Need Brain” Pohanka Chantilly, VA Lexus and Lindsay Alexandria, VA It's so true, that “Having Power You Don’t Need Brain” Pohanka Chantilly, VA Lexus and Lindsay Alexandria, VA dealerships are dishonest and rip off places and Lexus customers should avoid them. 1.On September 10, 2013 my wife and I bought Lexus ES 350 from Pohanka Lexus dealership in Chantilly, VA. Several days later after we negotiated and bought our ES 350 we found out that we have been overcharged $450.00 over the agreed upon price for the car. 2. At the end of July 2014 I took our under 5.000 miles original Bridgestone flat tire to Lindsay Lexus of Alexandria, VA for repair. Dealership told me that the tire “was unrepairable” and on the spot I was offered to sign a document according to which I had to agree to buy a new tire from Lindsay Lexus for $270.00. I did not trust the foreman’s “honesty.” On August 9, 2014 I took the flat tire to Bridgestone’s authorized Firestone Complete Auto Care Center, Bldg. 452 Pershing Drive at Fort Myer, VA. Servicemen of the Center told us our tire was repairable and repaired it for $20.28 and guaranteed it would serve us like a new one. Meanwhile, we had bought a brand new tire for $200 before our flat tire repair. 3. On May 29, 2015 we took our Lexus ES 350 to Pohanka Chantilly, VA dealership for oil and filter change. My wife and I were told that there was no charge for that and we were given the document to sign. But after service was completed we found out that $96.22 charge has been added to the document where before the service there had not been any! 4. On August 18, 2017 Pohanka Chantilly, VA Lexus dealership Service department foreman Mr. Christopher Chao at first asked $650 for our Lexus ES 350 30.000 mile service, but after I asked him the reason for that bloated price he lowered car service price to $550. At home we did our homework and found out that we had been ripped off for the fourth time! According to our Service-receipts comparison from Pohanka dealership’s April 2, 2016 (under 18 months Service) and August 18, 2017 (under 36 months or 30K Miles Service) we found out that our car’s April 2, 2016 Service labor duration was 1 hour 42 minutes for which we were charged $180, and our car had been served by two mechanics. And our car’s August 18, 2017 Service labor time was 1 hour 52 minutes for which we have been charged $375, and again our car had been served by two mechanics, which means for almost the same duration of work, with the same number of two mechanics servicing my car I was charged more than twice the amount I had been charged almost one year earlier. My numerous calls and complaints to US Lexus Customer Care hotline did not help: their 4-6 managers told me that Lexus dealerships can charge their customers as much as they want. On September 21, 2017 I had a telephone conversation with Garry Whipkey, General Manager of Pohanka Lexus dealership. Mr.Wipkey told me that our August 18, 2017 car service should be considered as a 30.000 mile car package service which was “more expensive” but he could not explain what was that 30.000 mile car package service, why should that be more expensive when our car service hour duration and number of mechanics working on the car were the same as previous one. According to his logic, Pohanka dealership can call any of its car service as a "package service" and charge its customers as much as they desire, a focus which they did with me!!! After his illogical and weird reply to my legitimate issue Mr. Wipkey suddenly resorted to blackmail tactics against me and asked in a threatening tone: “I was told you have taken your car to several other Lexus dealerships besides Pohanka and Lindsay for service and have demanded your money back after the services, you are used to it, isn’t it right?” I was stunned by his insolent and false claim and replied that he was lying, as my car service documents show I have used only two Lexus dealerships. I did not expect this kind of low, blackmail tactics from Mr.Wipkey which does not suit any decent, mentally, emotionally healthy person. If this is the “general manager”, then what could one expect from his superiors who have installed this guy as a “general manager”, or from any of Lexus employees? Also there is no justification for Lexus US Headquarters. If they cannot defend their Lexus customers’ rights and curb Lexus dealerships’ abnormal appetite, then what the heck Lexus US Headquarters Customer Care was created for? Some corrupt managers of this entity even defended the dishonest acts of Lexus dealerships during telephone conversation with me 2-3 years ago and told me “they trust the decency of Lexus dealerships’ employees”, and this after three well documented corruption cases! I accidently spotted their names on US Lexus Headquarters’ employees list which means these individuals still work! Truly, “Show me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are.” To wrap up this long e-mail: I would NEVER Buy Lexus car in future and would NEVER take my Lexus to Lexus dealerships for service anymore. I hope Japanese Toyota Company sooner or later takes care of its US customers by opening their direct Lexus dealerships with Japanese staff, closing all these US middlemen dealerships and its looser, useless US Lexus Customer Care entity! Shame on them! More

They just look at you and sometimes avoid eye contact.. After a while Freddy Earl approach me and help, very professional. Have 2 Lexus cars, will not come back. They are arrogant. More

Follow up service call from dealership is a waste of time. They are just making phone calls and do nothing to assist. Tried to call about service and needing a tow and got lost in phone xxxx and when complained to pretty boy GM got no satisfaction or apology. Unlike Reza, Pohanka only cares about service $ volume not individual customer. More

Whenever I arrive to the service center, I look for Mr. Tanyos and head for his desk, then I am assured that my visit will be pleasant and my car will have the necessary services without me worrying about the details.
