After two months of owning my new RDX (2800 miles) we noticed oil was leaking from the engine. I took it to be serviced, and was told they needed to order a part - it would take three days. After a wee noticed oil was leaking from the engine. I took it to be serviced, and was told they needed to order a part - it would take three days. After a week of being unable to reach my service advisor, he told me they were waiting for another part, and the car would be ready in three more days. 4 days later I was still unable to reach my service advisor and was forced to escalate the problem (not easy!!!!!). When I heard from the Service director, I was promised their best technician would work on the car the next day. That resulted in learning the car needed a new engine. I am still waiting for a repair, though I have requested a new car since I essentially purchased a new car that needed a new engine. The dealership claims their hands are tied by ACURA. ACURA says they will eventually fix the car, so I don't need a new car. Nobody is working to make it right. This is my first, and last, ACURA. More
BE WARY OF THIS DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT I had BE WARY OF THIS DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT I had my 02 TL with 91k miles in for a Virginia State Safety Inspection. I was told that the front BE WARY OF THIS DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT I had my 02 TL with 91k miles in for a Virginia State Safety Inspection. I was told that the front ball joints were bad. When I asked for the quote for the repair and when I was hesitant not to go along with the repair the service person started treating me very very rudely. In fact I was trying to get the repair cost down so I talked to the service manager on duty and to my big surprise he would not budge and he was a bit rude too. Had I read the reviews written by "03TL" on 7/2/08 and "Itessier" on 8/14/06 before this aweful experience, I would not have dealt with them in the first place. See their reviews below. So I am warning those who would consider taking in your car for VA inspection at this dealership proceed with extra extra caution, don't get taken for a ride there, go elsewhere where you will be at least treated the way a customer is supposed to be. These people there are a bit of a cut-throat ones. More
I purchused a used MDX which was advertised with all the features including rain sensing wipers - when I discovered that the wrong windshield was on the car - and the intermittent wipers would not work - I features including rain sensing wipers - when I discovered that the wrong windshield was on the car - and the intermittent wipers would not work - I made NUMEROUS attempts to get someone to return my calls - For 2 months I worked on getting some response. I finally got there corporate customer service rep involved - She had a terrible time getting any returned calls. Pohanka told her that I was lying and that the windshield had nothing to do with the wipers!!!! She did not research that response - but passed that on to me!!!! I told her to go reserch her product - before going to the customer with that crap. She then came back with a solid no about getting the correct windshield - Because I did not save the internet advertisement on the vehicle - I couldn't prove anything. I finally got a call from the General Manager (who was suppose to call me the previous week - per the customer service rep) So, I called him and he returned the call in 24 hours - HE WAS RUDE!!! He told me the reason that I had to deal with this for so long was "because I just won't take NO for an answer!" 's Pohanka is rude - the worst customer service I have ever experienced from a dealer - ACURA's position is that I bought Pohanka - and that Acura would do nothing to satisfy the customer. More
I had my 2003 TL-S serviced for its 90k mile maintenance on July 2, 2008. I was told it would take 2-3 hours. Four hours later, I received a phone call telling me that on top of the maintenance service ($ on July 2, 2008. I was told it would take 2-3 hours. Four hours later, I received a phone call telling me that on top of the maintenance service ($450), the ball joints were worn and they recommended I get new front brakes ($350), new rear brakes ($350) - which by the way were just replaced the year before, and two new rear tires (I do not remember the price). I tell them I do not want any of the additional services. I pick up my car five hours after I had dropped it off and as I am leaving there is a loud screeching sound, like none I have ever heard before. The service manager claimed it was because I had worn out the brakes. He did not even come into the car to listen to the noise and he refused to tell me anything other than "you're the one who wore out your brakes - we didn't wear out your brakes." Poor customer service! The only reason I took my car there was because I had such a positive sales experience there. I will NEVER go there again for service and urge other customers to take their cars elsewhere. More
I have purchased a used Acura RDX from this dealer. The sales person Danny Wright was very informative about the product and helpful. Jamal at Finance was fantastic and same for Danny Montanna in Serivce. sales person Danny Wright was very informative about the product and helpful. Mr Lenny Gonzales the General Manager of the dealership spent over 30 minutes talking to us and thinking us for our business and was extremely friendly and nice. I have purchased 23 cars both in Australia and US and this was by far the most professional dealership I have dealt with. With Thanks Ali L. More
This is the worst ever car dealer I came across. These guys are most unethical folks. Never ever sign before reading anything. Lenny Gonzales is a pain in the neck and the sales guy Kamal is another pain. guys are most unethical folks. Never ever sign before reading anything. I bought my 2002 RSX from Pohanka, which went relatively well, mostly because an employee had priced it $2000 below book online by accident. However, when I got rear ended, I decided to take it to Pohanka C well, mostly because an employee had priced it $2000 below book online by accident. However, when I got rear ended, I decided to take it to Pohanka Collision to get repaired. I thought I would be treated well, since I had purchased the car there, however, the service was horrible. They kept my car for 6 days, and did not remount the bumper correctly, which is quite simple, so I made them keep it an extra day. Essentially insurance paid more for my Kia rental than it did for the repair of my car, and it shows. NEVER get your car fixed at Pohanka Acura. More
Dealing with the sales team was a very pain-free process. We were pleased with the price and everything worked out exactly how we wanted it to. However when it came to getting our money back on the trade-in We were pleased with the price and everything worked out exactly how we wanted it to. However when it came to getting our money back on the trade-in things took a different turn. I have never dealt with a General Sales Manager (Mr. Gonzalez) so arrogant, condescending, and un-empathetic before. The accounting dept. didn't send the pay-off out in a timely manner, thus not allowing us to receive our check in the time promised. When the complaint was brought to the GSM, he was the biggest jerk we have ever dealt with. We brought our old Acura there for service and were very pleased, and so that's why we chose buy our new Acura from them. However, if this is how their management treats customers, I never want to do business with them again ... and we won't. To bad for them, because they just lost out on another sale. More
I bought a used 03 TL that was a formerly leased vehicle and was certified. I was provided the CarFax report and checked Kelly Blue Book while my 89 Legend was being evaluated for trade-in. Price was $2300 and was certified. I was provided the CarFax report and checked Kelly Blue Book while my 89 Legend was being evaluated for trade-in. Price was $2300 less than KBB. I got a fair price for my trade-in with no haggle. I only got one wireless key fob and no valet key, though I was told the valet key was there. I called and was initially told "it's a used vehicle--what you have is all you get", but when I arrived to get a valet key and a can of touch-up paint, I got both plus another wireless key fob for the 2nd memory seat (very used)--but all free. This car has navigation, and before I purchased I was told I'd get a free update from Pohanka every year, a $185 value. The current DVD is from 2003 or earlier, so I'm unsure whether they'll honor this (new updates come out yearly in Sep). Ledys also said I could download an update from the internet, which I find hard to believe, but as yet cannot refute. Overall experience was positive, but I'll be cautious and wary of service here based on other inputs. More
We had our 01 TL with 55k miles in for a Virginia State Safety Inspection. We recieved a call saying the front ball joints were bad. I had them reject the car. I am a licensed Virginia State Safety Insp Safety Inspection. We recieved a call saying the front ball joints were bad. I had them reject the car. I am a licensed Virginia State Safety Inspector (work for a private fleet & can only inspect company owned vehicles) and checked the front end myself. I did not find anything wrong. I took the car to another shop for inspection. They did not find anything wrong with the front end. They put a new inspection sticker on. I am dissapointed since they are around the corner from the house. I will find another place to take the car for service. More
