I bought a new Acura TL SH-AWD at Pohanka yesterday. I am from out of the area and the dealer knew that I wouldn't be using them for service. While the price was good, I was treated like a number. The sales and finance department seem to be in a rush to process people through as quickly as possible. I felt totally rushed and when I asked questions and wanted details I felt like they were annoyed and inconvenienced. They do have an excellent selection of cars but they seem to be operating like a machine. Buying a new car should be a special occasion. I didn't feel that during my brief visit. More
I had previously come to Pohanka Acura (in 2006) to purchase a new TSX. I experienced the worst customer service at that time. The sales staff seemed uninterested in my business, not to mention unfri purchase a new TSX. I experienced the worst customer service at that time. I walked out of the dealership and went directly to the next closest Acura dealer and promptly purchased the car (because the sales staff was superb). After that experience, I did write a letter to the owner of Pohanka Acura describing my experience. He was very apologetic and encouraged me to proceed with servicing and/ or any future purchasing with Pohanka. I did go ahead and use Pohanka for servicing and have been happy with the service ever since. Therefore, when it came time to upgrade the size of my car (after 2 kids), my husband and I decided to give Pohanka sales team another shot. We could not have been happier with our experience this time around. My husband is also in sales, so he is a very tough critic of all sales people. He was thoroughly impressed by both our sales guy, Eric, and our finance guy, Mike. Our experience was stress-free and efficient (especially when we showed up with a 3 day old baby in tow to pick up the car!). Overall, we have nothing but great things to say this time around. I work in very close proximity to this particular dealership and I work with a lot of clients. I will be sure to pass on my glowing recommendation of your dealership. Thanks! More

Pohanka Acura is a great dealership. I'm currently deployed to Iraq. I recieved a price via email from Pohanka for their year end sale. It's was too good to pass. Spoke to my wife and she went and tes deployed to Iraq. I recieved a price via email from Pohanka for their year end sale. It's was too good to pass. Spoke to my wife and she went and test drove the 2010 TSX. When it was time to sign, the same price was given and it was a very smooth transaction. It was Christmas time and I received an unexpected call from the dealership to upgrade my 2006 tsx to a brand new tsx. I was doubtful and waited for the other shoe to drop. It never did. I received an excellent interest rate and my payment landed significantly less than the current payment I had with the 2006. Freddie was great and so was Jamal. They were very friendly and answered every question I had. I love the new ride! The upgrades are fabulous and my long commute to work to MD everyday is now a more enjoyable experience. I was inquiring about coming off my lease early. My wife and I had been looking into Acura for a while. We finally saw that they had some of their service loaner TSX models on the used lot. We really wanted a low mileage, certified Tsx and this provided the perfect option. That low mileage paired with the special financing made it the right time to buy. We had contacted the dealership via email the Saturday before our visit and had arranged an appointment with a sales consultant for 10:00am Monday morning. When we showed up and asked for the person we had made the appointment with we were told he didn't come in until 11:00am. I was a little unhappy with this. Why make an appointment for before you come in. We were then introduced to Zack and things started to go up from there. He had a great low pressure attitude to selling cars and made my wife very comfortable with the whole process. I on the other had, being a car guy, was impressed with his overall knowledge of the car he was trying to sell to us. So many times I deal with salesmen who either don't know the answers to my questions, don't know and just make something up, or just don't care to know. Zack knew all of the answers and seemed excited to be working for Acura based on his advanced knowledge of the TSX. After we concluded the sale I was also impressed with his after the sale attitude. He probably spend 20 minutes sitting in the back seat teaching my wife how to use all of the technology in the car and helping pair her phone via blue tooth. Overall we are very happy with our experience at Pohanka and look forward to doing business again with them. More
I have used this dealership many times. Until this visit, I would have rated average or below. Ted Wesler has made the difference. With his leadership, changes have been made. I will continue with my service there. Ted has given me new confidence in the service given. When I buy my next car- it will be from Pohanka Acura. I am the lead manager for 11 medical practices- Ted Wesler is what customer service is all about Over the years, in dealing with Pohanka, I have had difficult issues with the staff. That has all changed with his leadership. Thank you Ted. If anyone is looking for great service, honesty and great managers directly hands on- You want to use Pohanka. They would have lost this customer, if not for you. I am telling everyone I come in contact with- Pohanka is the BEST. Call Ted if your expectations are not met. He is obviously a "car" person which I found to be a great asset when dealing with him. I think that most Acura customers would feel the same way. In shopping for a vehicle I found several sales representatives at other dealers (not Acura) that seemed clueless about automobiles. Zach's passion for the car business and for people were major pluses in my Pohanka experience. In the future I'll write about the service department. More
