While in NYC for a visit I stopped by Plaza Toyota to check out some cars. I was impressed with the wide selection of vehicles to choose from, as well as the welcoming reception I received from the staff check out some cars. Overall, my experience purchasing a car from Plaza Toyota was afwul. The staff was not knowledgeable, made many mistakes, and worst of all, were extremely rude. In a conversation with the Sales Manger, Aladdin Ibrahim, over the phone I said, "Toyota is a major company, how can your customer service be like this?" To which he replied, "We sell a million cars a year, we don't care if one customer isn't happy." My Experience: After agreeing to purchase a new Toyota, I told the salesman to call me in when the car and the paperwork were ready. I left to get a check and documentation. I was called back in. Nothing was ready. I waited almost 3 hours and filled out a few forms but no car was ready. I left and told the salesman to call me back when the car was ready. I was called back. When I arrived, no car was ready. I waited nearly 2 hours to get my car. While the salesman was explaining to me the features as I was taking the car off the lot, it was clear he knew very little about the product. The following week I received a check for the trade-in value of my car. The check was in the incorrect amount. I came to the dealership to speak to the Sales Manager, Aladdin Ibrahim, to tell him how my experience could have gone better and to correct the issue with the check. From the start, Aladdin was very rude and aggressive. He started making accusations because I didn't bring the check they sent me (even though they confirmed their mistake on their computer during the conversation). Our conversation ended with Aladdin literally shouting the 'F-word' at me exclaiming, "I'm not sending you your check at all now! Leave before I call security." This is how I was treated after making a major purchase at this dealership. No person, let alone a customer, should be treated this way. I encourage everyone reading this to pass this along and not to do business here. More
The transmission on my Camry stopped working. With only 39,000 miles on it, this is covered by the powertrain warranty. When I called Plaza Toyota to get it fixed, it took me hours and multiple calls befor 39,000 miles on it, this is covered by the powertrain warranty. Finally, Mike called back, identifying himself as the foreman of the service team. After hearing my description of the problem, he told me that it wasn't the transmission, but the fusible link, which I must have broken when I improperly boosted. Since this was my fault, I would have to pay for all testing and repairs. Knowing that I hadn't boosted the car and that the battery should anyway have nothing to do with the transmission, I was smart enough to know that he was lying through his teeth and sent my car to East Coast Toyota, who replaced the transmission at no cost to me. It's sad that my local Toyota dealer is do dishonest and lies to avoid honoring Toyota's warranty. I would never trust Plaza Toyota to do any work on my car. More

My husband, daugther and I went into this dealership to browse, but we knew what we had in mind. After speaking to Nana we liked the deal, but decided to come back at a later date. Nana and his Manager talked with us about their Presidential sale (last day) and what was available to us at that time. After a "family meeting" we decided to go for the Rav4 Limited ... they made us a deal we could not refuse. We drove our "baby" home yesterday evening and we are so thrilled. Not only did we get the color, my hushand wanted, but some great perks, i.e. back camera, lojack, push button start, etc. Thank you so much for taking the extra time to talk with us, but also not being too pushy. We love the car. Nana is a true gentleman with a great sense of humor. Again, thank you for everything. More

SUMMERY: Bait and Switch is standard practice here, and the people you talk to on the phone are paid to lie to you (as explained by the salesman i met with). If you want that special feeling of rage and impotence, this is the place! I am looking for a used RAV4 and they had 20(!) listed on their website. I was interested in 2 b/c of the price. I called on Sun. to make sure the 2 were on the lot. Jasmine said yes, come on in, we have a lot of RAV4s. I asked her to make sure they were there. She said she would call me right back but didn't. Hours later I called again and Jasmine told me they were not on the lot but she would talk to the manager and call me in the morning. I called the following morning (mon) an hour after they opened, but Jasmine said it was still early and she didn't want to 'bother the manager's yet" really? ok. she told me she would return my call in 45 minute. i called back 3 hours later and asked to talk to someone else. enter Ben. Ben tells me the cars are being stored elsewhere - which of the two would i rather see? i explain again that i'm traveling 1 hour to get there so i would like to see both. Ben doesn't know if this is possible but promises to try and "will call me back" ... exit Ben. (wednesday) no call back and I'm over it, but my fiance calls again and talks to Kevin. she gives the stock#s and he says, yes! they're here. come in and ask for Kevin. she explains the long trip and he assures her they are onsite. so i called back and asked for Kevin, explaining that i was told before that they were not onsite, is he sure? Oh, now Kevin realizes they're not there.... he calls back later and says that they will be onsite tomorrow after 12. just come in and ask for Jasmine. I called Jasmine on friday - expressed my doubts and asked her to make absolutely sure the Rav4s were on the lot. "Yes, yes, she repeats the stock #s and says they're here, come on in." I get there after over an hour of travel and there is no Jasmine and no RAVs I requested. in fact there were only 2 used RAVs as opposed to the 20 listed online. Unreal. the sales guy who didn't give me his name told me Jasmine's job was just to get people into the showroom so that's why she said the vehicles were here. Wow. the sales guy 'didn't know where the vehicles were' and talked to the manager who didn't bother to walk over 15ft to apologize. all in all, a giant waste of time - try to ignore plaza's online prices. next stop - BBB! I had called before coming to make sure that the exactly car model was available on the lot, and we were told that it was. When we arrived in the showroom, there was nobody to help us for some time. Not only that, once someone did come by, we found out that Danielle, the person we spoke with on the phone, had "made a mistake" and there was no such car available. She was also unable to explain what had happened. Despite this great annoyance and inconvenience, I agreed to sit down and talk with Andrew. He made us a decent offer and we came to an agreement. From that point on, we had a good experience at Plaza Toyota due to his courtesy and customer service. He is a very skilled salesman and made us feel quite comfortable and happy with our decision to stay and conduct our business there. Eric helped us when we came back to get the car a few days later, and he was polite and helped us get in and out quickly. Marcus did an outstanding job in rapidly finding the exact vehicle (Rav 4 with third seat) that i needed. He was a consummate professional with superb interpersonal skills.
