I previously bought a car from Plaza Hyundai and I went back in September 2011 to lease a 2012 Sonata. I sought out Frank Mosca because he was the salesman I dealt with on my previous purchase. Frank was back in September 2011 to lease a 2012 Sonata. I sought out Frank Mosca because he was the salesman I dealt with on my previous purchase. Frank was extremely helpful and straight forward in his dealings with me. No fast talk or salesman gimmicks. We had a good sitdown negotiation and I was pleased with the price I got for the car. My experience at Plaza Hyundai was puzzling and disappointing both by e-mail and in person. Saving time by obtaining price quotes using the internet is commonplace now, but the focus of plaza's int disappointing both by e-mail and in person. Saving time by obtaining price quotes using the internet is commonplace now, but the focus of plaza's internet department is solely to get you to visit the showroom. To illustrate, I had an extensive exchange of e-mails in September with their internet rep., Tricia. I repeatedly asked for a simple quote on a Elantra GLS trim. I never got one. Her e-mails contained such boilerplate content as: “I have made a few unsuccessful attempts to contact you” [Really? How did that e-mail get through? How did someone from plaza JUST phone me to invite me to the showroom? PS...Amusingly, that man who phoned actually declined my request to check his inventory and e-mail me back a quote by saying 'I don't like the internet because I'm a baby boomer']. Another of Tricia's e-mails said: “Once I have gathered all the necessary information I will be happy to give you some pricing options.” The closest I got to a specific reply was this comment: “I do not want to give you an inaccurate price quote which will make you an dissatisfied customer. Please take the time to visit us so that we can make you a happy customer by giving you a great deal.” When we spoke once, she advised me how “empowering” it would be for me to come in to the showroom. Once I e-mailed her that I was coming in the next day look at plaza's gls inventory; she replied she looked forward to meeting me but omitted that no gls models were in stock. Given Plaza’s saturation radio campaign, I was lucky there were no other customers in the large showroom when I arrived. No one knew Tricia. I met a salesman named Paul who I told I was seeking to buy, not lease, a gls. He told me the showroom only had the costlier Limited trim elantra, not the gls. I replied I was only seeking the gls. He conducted a polite interview, marred by one intrusive question--“Can you tell me the details of the loan you said you’re getting from your family?” [I replied I wouldn’t discuss it], and one odd question--given that they didn’t have the gls: “Would you be ready to deal and drive off the lot today?”. He said his manager would try to locate a GLS, while he gave me an test ride of the Limited. Though I had test-driven it before, Paul did an excellent job of describing the car’s features. After we returned, his manager Evan said he couldn’t find a gls (or even when it might become available). He urged me to consider a Limited--which I declined, and asked again me the same two odd questions that Paul had posed. “Was I ready to deal and drive off with a car that day?” While Monty Hall might admire his love of the deal, I wasn’t interested in negotiating for an imaginary car, so I told him I had things to do that evening, and wouldn’t be able to deal and drive that day. He ended the interview saying: “The negotiating process takes hours…I don‘t want to start it if you‘re not ready.” Lastly, I never received any follow up calls or emails from plaza concerning when a gls might become available. After several less than pleasant trips to other dealerships in the area, Anthony and Evan really listened to what we wanted and found a car that matched our budget. These guys are top-notch. I showed up at 7:15 am for a 7:30am appointment for a NYS inspection on my wife's Tucson. I was finally told at 8:30 that I needed tires to pass inspection. I asked the service writer why it took over an h inspection on my wife's Tucson. I was finally told at 8:30 that I needed tires to pass inspection. I asked the service writer why it took over an hour to tell me. He replied that they don't start work until 8am. When I asked him why I had an appointment at 7:30, he had no answer. I was appalled by the lack of professionalism at this point. Why did I have to be there at 7:30, if they don't start working until 8? And why was there no coffee? At 9am, I was told by the service writer that they were having trouble locating the proper tires, and he wasn't sure if they had them. Now, I'm no rocket scientist, but it doesn't take that long to check your computers, and then double check the shelves. Finally, at 10am, I demanded my wife's car back. He replied that they were still looking for tires. I took the car back anyway, no tires, no inspection! I got the tires later that day at a retail store and got the inspection at my local gas station. I wasted 3 hours of my life there that day that I will never get back. I urge the general public to stay away from Plaza service More
I have been on the market for a couple of months now and have been dealing with various dealers to get the best price. We received a quote of $15000 + taxes and fees from a Customer Service Representative. have been dealing with various dealers to get the best price. We received a quote of $15000 + taxes and fees from a Customer Service Representative. An email exchange was given in order to confirm that the price was $15k cash plus the fees, and the reply stated that yes, that's what he had said and "Aint' that what you asked me for??" (verbatim) We traveled to the dealer and found out that the person we had been dealing with was not a salesman and that someone would be with us. We were sat down and started to fill out the form with all required information, trade-in info, etc. That's when it all started. Said customer service rep was not in the office and they couldn't access his email. I pulled up the email exchange on my phone and showed it to them. While we were waiting for the manager to look over what had been communicated to us, my father got into a discussion with the salesman and got called "papi chulo". I've worked in customer service before and it is never ok to blatantly call a customer anything other than their name, or a formal salutation. We were there approximately 15 minutes before we were told that the price quote that had been given to us was impossible and they could not do it, they had to make a living, etc etc. We then asked why are their representatives stating these figures then if the offer cannot be met. Apparently they were going to lure us in with a quote of $15k but expect us to walk about paying at least $2000 more for the car. I do not recommend this dealer in the least. Their employees are rude and will blatantly lie to you to get you to travel all the way to Brooklyn in hopes that you will just buy a car anyway. More

Lester, our sales rep, & Mark, the dealer manager, exemplified outstanding customer service, were extremely knowledgable, and a joy to work with. After visiting two other dealers in the area, we ended up back at Plaza Auto, as the others did not measure up. Auto Plaza offered the best value for money and we felt comfortable working with them. They were honest, fair on price, helpful, knowledgable, and made the overall expereince of purchasing a new vehicle very pleasant. They also helped us examine different options in regards to leasing or buying and were very patient with us as we weighed our options - no sales pressure at all. We would use them again for sure and think you should too! Sincerely, The Lazzara's More
