You are not the first to express concern about achieving the advertised MPG from their Hyundai model. We're here to help as much as we can. The following link is from the U.S. Department of Energy, Government certified MPG rates for the Elantra: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/Feg/bymodel/2012_Hyundai_elantra.shtml Have you reviewed your owners manual? If you get the chance, It includes more information on what is referred to as the "break-in period" and best practices on getting the most of your fuel economy. It explains that your break-in period is 1500 miles. You will see marked improvement after the break-in period of 1000-1500 miles and possibly even more after that. I'm not sure how many miles you've put on your Hyundai thus far, but the MPG varies case by case, depending on your usual driving conditions. We hear you, and appreciate your concern. We as a dealer want to make sure you are satisfied with the product we're selling. There are many forums online including real customer testimonials from all over the country with their own consumer insights and recommendations as well. Our Customer Relations department would be more than happy to e-mail you further information, links to discussion boards and example testimonials. Unfortunately, there's no switch to flip on inside your Hyundai that will make you immediately reach the advertised MPG, but we hope that very soon, as you continue to cruise around in your Elantra, you will reach the expected MPG based on your local driving conditions, along with your personal routine and be satisfied with your fuel economy.
