I looked at two other car makers and went to one other VW dealer in Huntington which was horrible. I almost gave up on VWs because of the way they treated me. But I really wanted a new Jetta. I was interested in purchasing a new Jetta for my daughter and inadvertently filled out an online request with one of the referral services. I was contacted, by email and telephone, by four different daughter and inadvertently filled out an online request with one of the referral services. I was contacted, by email and telephone, by four different dealers in the tri-state area, one of whom was Frank Messina, internet sales manager of Platinum Volkswagan. I had previously obtained dealer invoice, cost, MSRP & best price numbers from truecar.com, so I was already an informed buyer. My first, and last (as it turns out) impression of Frank Messina was that he was friendly, honest, knowledgeable and straight-forward. His initial offer was a good price, but not the best. Another dealer (in White Plains) gave me a better price and I was ready to make the deal. I contacted Frank, as a courtesy, to let him know that I was buying the car elsewhere. To my surprise, he worked with the General Manager and the owner to make an offer that was significantly below dealer cost...$17,000 plus tax and DMV. I then contacted the White Plains dealer who assured me that the Platinum price was unrealistic and only a ploy to get me in the door ( he wouldn't even split the difference...a matter of a few hundred dollars, to save me the trip from Westchester to Hicksville); that they would increase the price when I arrived with hidden fees. My instincts told me to trust Frank and I am glad that I did. When I arrived at the Platinum volkswagan dealer, I met Frank and Josh, the owner, and found that the offer was true; the paperwork was done, the insurance was in place and they did the DMV work right at the dealer...WOW! They had offered 0.9% financing, over the phone, that I thought was a teaser rate...wrong again; I was given the 0.9% financing!!!!! We drove away with the car within hours!!! The car is costing me $291.00/month for 66 months. WHAT A DEAL!!!!!!. You may not get exactly the same price from them, but you will get the best deal available...guaranteed!! I highly recommed Platinum Volkswagen and Frank Messina. They are honest, honest, HONEST! More
