We purchased our Nissan from Planet and we've been there for service before, but now I'm questioning their service practices and questioning whether I return. The front air dam on our Maxima has nearly fallen off due to various curbs and such and in my (non-expert) opinion, it needs to be replaced. Called the service department, told them the issue over the phone and made an appointment. You can clearly see the front air dam is connected only on one side and was hanging down. The service advisor saw it with his eyes when we checked in the car. We were told there would be a $179 diagnostic fee (again, you can see it hanging down) but that fee would be applied towards the repair. Fine, please proceed. A few hours later, we were contacted by the service team informing us that an air dam replacement is NOT something that their service team works on and we would need to take the car to a body shop to have it replaced. Oh but, I still need to pay the $179 diagnostic fee. Are you kidding me? You were told exactly what the issue was and not only the person on the phone but also the service advisor didn't know that this would be a body shop repair?? What diagnostic was needed...? The darn thing is hanging down!! I'm sorry, but standing your ground and charging your customer for a repair that you knew you wouldn't perform is simply robbery. I know it's only $179 and we will survive that financial hit, but this is horrendous customer service. How about I go to a nice restaurant, order the filet mignon, only to find out that they ran out of filet, but I still have to pay for the filet anyway... just because I asked for it. Enjoy the $179. I hope it goes towards something really nice. As for me, you won't see me again. More
Was experiencing a vibration at various speeds. On the fourth visit to the dealer to find the issue they discovered a missing bolt on the exhaust manifold and replaced it. Then the dealership turned around and charged me $377 for a fix that should have been covered under the warranty. Dealer stated the bolt should ave been there thus the repair not covered under the warranty???? If the bolt should have been there then why wasn't it there? Bad build? Bad design? Both the Service manager and the local Nissan representative declined to cover the repair. This problem started with less than 17,000 miles on my Murano and over a year of warranty left. The first two time in for the problem Iwas informed by the service representative that the noise was normal for the Murano. My wife went with me on the third visit and insisted that the service representative testdrive another Murano then ours. The service representative noticed right away that there was a problem and stated that the vibration was not normal as all the other service representatives claim was the issue. (Thanks Maveric). Based on two worthless trips to the service center denying there was a problem and the fact that Nissan has refused to reimburse me for the repair under warranty, I have given a 1 star rating. I have also opened up a BBB complaint under BBB's Lemon Law/Warranty issues and will be going to the next level past the local Nissan representative to fight this issue. More
