It was a very easy process. Henry Li assisted me in buying a new Honda CRV. I was in and out of there in a short period of time. I would recommend Planet Honda to my relatives and friends. This was by far, the worst experience I've ever had buying anything...ever. First, the prices listed on their website for *certified* used Hondas does not include certification!?! I found a vehicle I buying anything...ever. First, the prices listed on their website for *certified* used Hondas does not include certification!?! I found a vehicle I wanted to purchase on their website that had "certified used Honda" plastered all over the listing, but when I got there, I was told that the listed price does not include certification. That would be another $995! That seems an awful lot like false advertising to me. After I got over the fact that I had to bump up the price by $995, I negotiated what I thought was a fair price for the vehicle and got an okay from the sales manager, Nelson, but I was told that the price would not include the certification. I then decided I would ask for certification, but was only willing to pay $400 more for it. I was then told that this would be acceptable. I thought everything was okay and returned my rental car. When I got back, though, I was shown the contract with a final price that was $1000 more than we had agreed upon earlier! The sales manager said that he "misunderstood" my offer and that he couldn't do the price I thought we had agreed to. How convenient. As part of the sales manager's argument for staying with his offer, he said he could get me 1.9% financing, so I caved and said I would pay $300 more than what we had originally agreed to. All of this wheeling and dealing took about 3 hours. Now, I had to wait to talk to the financing person. This took about 2 more hours. The whole time, I had the salesman telling me that with my credit score well over 800, I would have no problem getting 1.9% financing. "That was good," I told him, because I already had 3% financing from my credit union, which I had already told Nelson, the sales manager. So, I now reach the almighty financing guy, John, after 5 hours in the dealership and he proceeds to tell me that he can get me 3.79% financing!?! At that point, I lost it. Every step of the way in the process, I was told one thing and then the paperwork was handed to me with a totally different set of numbers. To add insult to injury, the financing guy was a total jerk with his sanctimonious attitude, acting like he was doing me some kind of favor. He knew that I already had 3% financing, since I mentioned it multiple times to the salesman and sales manager. In addition, the sales manager kept pointing to the 1.9% financing he could get me during our (re)negotiations. The sales manager, Nelson, knew the year and model of the car I was buying, he also knew my credit score. I find it incredible that he could quote me a rate without actually looking up the rate that I would actually be able to get on the financing. I asked for my deposit back at that point and was ready to walk out. I then thought about the fact that I would then have to start this process all over again at another dealership and said that I would just pay the balance with my credit union check, which I should have done in the first place. I should have known it would be a nightmare from all of the bad reviews on other websites, but they had such a large inventory of used cars that I thought I would take a chance. Boy was I sorry. All in all, the fraud and games that are played at this dealer can’t be just limited to this particular sales manager and financing guy. This whole process of deception must be institutionalized at this dealer. It seemed to come just too naturally. From the sales manager desperately trying to find someone to drive me back from the rental car place while he cooked up his numbers, to his pushing the 1.9% financing even though he knew that 1.9% was only available certified used Accords, not on Civics, as I found out on my own later. They say: “never attribute to malice what can more readily be explained by incompetence.” To be fair, I’ve attributed my horrible experience above to malice, but it could be that the staff I dealt with was just totally incompetent. In either case, I say good riddance to Planet Honda and say to you, dear reader: For the love of all things holy, NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH PLANET HONDA! Update: I went back to pay the balance with my check. The salesman, Ron was nice enough. The finance guy, John, however, was just as much of a jerk. He had me sign all the paperwork, but when I got to the glass security etching sheet, I said “Are you sure it has security etching on the glass?” He said with a smirk and an air of condescension “It does.” I said “are you sure, because I don’t remember seeing it?” He nodded with that smirk and the same attitude he had that first day and just said the two words “It does.” After I paid and went out to the car, I looked on all four side windows, and sure enough, there was no security etching. I felt like going back in and bringing John back out there to show me where the security etching was that he was so sure was there, but that would have been stooping to his level. More
I WAS VERY PLEASE WITH KALEEM WYNE AS A SALE PERSON. HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL HE LISTENED TO ALL MY NEEDS. HE ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS, EVEN IF I ASKED THAT SAME QUESTIONS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. HE WAS VERY WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL HE LISTENED TO ALL MY NEEDS. HE ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS, EVEN IF I ASKED THAT SAME QUESTIONS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. HE WAS VERY PATIENT WITH ME. KALEEM WENT OVER EVERY DETAIL OF THE CAR WITH ME. IF I COULD RATE KALEEM PROFORMANCE FROM 1-10 I WOULD GLADLY GIVE HIM A HIGH 10!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH KALEEM FOR MAKING MY EXPERIENCE AT PLANT HONDA A GOOD ONE. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HIM TO MY CLOSE FRIENDS AND FAMILY. Boy do I love Planet Honda. Each time I go, I leave HAPPY. Being there is like being at a home away from home. After being lulled in by an ad for a new Honda at 155/month, we arrived only to wait for 15 minutes before anyone realized we were there. Then, after a long walk around the parking lot attempting to find a car, we are told there are an additional 4K in fees to get the advertised price! That includes an additional 1500 for not being a Honda owner previously. I'm not sure how that's supposed to bring in new customers, but add to that an overly zealous salesperson (who still continues to call and text me) and a very disorganized lot, and we were completely unhappy and walked out. Needless to say we left without purchasing, and I don't see myself ever stepping foot in Planet Honda again. More
