It is amazing the difference that it can make when the salesperson doesnt treat you like you're stupid, or is condescending, or low-xxxxx your trade. You know what happens when you treat customers fairly?? You sell cars AND get repeat customers. I received a fair trade for my 2012 RAM, managed to negotiate a lower payment on my new 2015 Edge.
