Worst Honda service ever! In January of 2014 I received my car from having it shipped from Hawaii. Before leaving Hawaii, I had a check engine light come on and was forced to get it checked prior to shipping. It was a O2 sensor. So when I picked it up in January from the shipper, I called Don Wessell Honda in Springfield, MO o make an appointment. The man in the service department who answered told me that I didn’t know what I was talking about and that he was going to have to “diagnose” it himself and he would have to charge me $80. After having to put up with their sexist rude men in the service department, I had to return because of the air bag recall. when the news came out I went to the Honda website and put in my VIN. It stated that my vehicle was one of the recalled. So when I called, Oct 20, 2014, I was greeted with the biggest chauvinist I have ever met. I was told that there was absolutely NO way to tell if my vehicle was one the ones that was recalled. After I explained about the Honda website and the VIN, he told me I was stupid and I didn’t know what I was talking about. So Thursday, October 23, 2014, I made an appointment through the website. Now mind you, I registered with my vehicle’s VIN. I made an appointment on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 1300. Now I live in Waynesville, 90 miles to the east of Springfield. I had to put in for the afternoon off. So when I get to Don Wessel Honda, I get treated like I am stupid because I am a woman. Steven, proceeds to check me in and then tell me, Oh but we have to order the parts by the VIN and we didn’t have your VIN. I then explained to him that I am registered with the website with my VIN. He says that he then has to “check” to see if the part was ordered. I was then taken to the mall. About a half hour later, I receive a call, telling me that the parts are “back-ordered”. I tell him I want to speak to a manager. The manager comes on the phone and becomes rude and defends his incompetent service department. I told him that I did not appreciate my time being wasted. He proceeds to tell me , “oh its not a waste, we can still change your oil.” The only reason I scheduled an oil change and tire rotation was because I have no other choice but to bring my car in for the recall. and I could have had the oil change done for cheaper and without wasting 4 hours of my time and a half a tank of gas. He offered NO apologies and said he has the best service department. He is delusional. YOU DO NOT WANT TO USE DON WESSELL HONDA EVER! WORST SERVICE EVER! THE ONLY GOOD THING GOING FOR DON WESSEL HONDA IS THE SHUTTLE DRIVER, DON! THAT’S IT! More
We pulled into Honda after a bad experience across the road. I told Richard what we were looking for and he was wonderful. Very nice, very informed on vehicles, very helpful all around. I can't encourage you to consider Don Wessel Honda enough for your next car. From the beginning to end of the buying process, they were up-front and honest about everything. They didn't pressure my fiance (n for your next car. From the beginning to end of the buying process, they were up-front and honest about everything. They didn't pressure my fiance (now wife) and I, but worked hard to get us into the right car at a price we could afford. We ended up with a beautiful 2002 Acura MDX (used). It had higher miles, but they took extra care to make sure all the proper maintenance was done and it was all checked out. However, the unexpected happened and a few hundred miles after the purchase, the transmission started giving us fits. A few hundred more and the transmission light turned on. I called them, expecting resistance... but all I got was "Now we get to show you we mean what we say. Bring it in and we'll take care of it." My wife (we got married 2 days after buying it) and I were floored. What a relief that we didn't need to add this to an already stressful time for us. We dropped it off and they pulled up a loaner so we would have a car while ours was in the shop. We explained we had to leave for our honeymoon that coming weekend (3 days away) and they said they'd do their best to get it done in time. Long story, short: The transmission was shot and they couldn't find a rebuilt one in town so they ordered a brand new one direct from Acura! It was overnighted to the dealership and installed by the end of the next day at absolutely no cost to us. We drove away with a BRAND NEW transmission (worth at least $2500, not including labor) without paying a single cent and in plenty of time to make our honeymoon! Don Wessel Honda is a class-act dealership that actually cares for their customers. Don't buy a car until you've at least paid them a visit... and if you do buy from them, rest assured the WILL take care of you the right way. More
I bought an 07 Civic from this dealer and have tried to have service done on an 00 Odyssey and 03 Accord. Service personnel are unable to diagnose any problem that is not initiated by the "check engine li have service done on an 00 Odyssey and 03 Accord. Service personnel are unable to diagnose any problem that is not initiated by the "check engine light". Service is very expensive here and is not the best quality. They replaced an air conditioner compressor on the 00 odyssey for $1200 and it still doesn't work well. I trust them for an oil and filter change, but that's all. New and used prices are high - no dickering here, just pay the high price. I won't patronize this dealership again. More
