Matt Phinney reached out to me and was very professional and made it a quick and easy process. He accommodated my requests for verification, gave a fair offer, drove to me to inspect and pick up, and handled the rest of the transaction of paying off the lien holder.. Great experience and would recommend anyone else to do business with him. More
Great service where others failed! I love my 2006 Chevrolet HHR, but she is showing signs of maturity (130,000 miles). She still has plenty of giddyap, good performance and gas mileage, but recently her bones are beginning to ache and she complained often and loudly. The front end sounded like it was about to break loose and run down the highway on its own. I took the car to my mechanic who said she was fine, nothing loose. Her screams, however, were tough to tolerate - something was wrong with the wheels, tires, or drivetrain. I took the car to another shop in Watertown that specialized in front ends, suspensions, and alignments. They took the old girl for a spin, noticed the noise, put her up on the lift, looked her over and told me everything was okay. I wasn't happy with the verdict, but at least I felt the car wasn't going to come apart at the seams and leave me stranded. In a final act of frustration I called Phinney's in Clayton. They were an old, family run business that specialized in GM, particularly Chevy. I explained the problem with my old HHR and explained I loved the car and would really appreciate someone who could fix the car, eliminate the rattling and give me back the car I enjoyed so much. Not long after I dropped the car off with the mechanics at Phinney's, I got a call from Kristin telling me they found the problem, explained what was needed for the repair and suggested some other repairs to put back on the road in tip-top shape. After I picked up the car it didn't take long to see the car was in great shape. The car ran and performed as well as when it was new - I was overjoyed! I don't normally review products or services, but I feel I owe something to Phinneys since OTHERS couldn't find the problem and told me to live with an older car with too many miles. Phinneys were able to do what others failed to do. My only regret is that I had to pay for two other services before I got it done right at Phinneys. I won't make that mistake again. I happily recommend having your car serviced at Phinneys. Do it to save both time and money. More

He knew the answers to any questions I had about the paperwork, insurance, and the car I wanted. The office, cars and associates there are all great! I had an excellent first car buying experience and was able to pick it up the following morning. Very grateful and beyond satisfied with EVERYTHING! Thank You Phinney's Auto!! More

We discussed the truck and Matt agrreed to my price which I told him was NON Nogociable and Matt and another employee drove 300 miles to my location the next day and took the truck. This was probably one of the easiest dealings I ever had with a vehicle!!! I will definitley call Matt personally the next time I'm selling one of my cars! What I most appreciated about Matt is he was a down to earth guy and wasn't just trying to take my truck at a "STEAL" to generate a profit. I can honestly say we both walked away from the deal with respect for each other and that's not something I say everyday about Dealerships and thier people!!! My truck broke down and called AAA and they sent this company to retreive me and my vechicle. They were on time and kept in contact with me about how long it would be. They took my truck and me home. The person was friendly and I would recommend him for anyone who needs assistence. My truck was loaded and unloaded with care, even though it not new. This was on Christmas night 2013.I want to say thanks again. More
Matthew Phinney contacted me about a vehicle I posted for sale on Craigslist. He offered me a fair price and even took care of the paperwork for the outstanding loan. So much easier than selling to a private sale on Craigslist. He offered me a fair price and even took care of the paperwork for the outstanding loan. So much easier than selling to a private party. I enjoyed working with him and his father. More

But, less than 90 days of owning it and a $590 repair bill with no offer or concern from owner/salesman to take care of it! I consider that double dipping! I can handle splitting the cost! But nope!! Nothing! Was hoping a small dealer would be alot better to work with than the mega dealers but Im afraid not! Never again! I would consider the price we paid for the vehicle market price so it wasnt like we got a "good deal"! Dealers are dealers! john More
