Florida to give them the We purchased a new 2021 Kia Sorento, our 5th one. 1 week later I went to the Phil Smith Kia Service dept. in Lighthouse Pt. Florida to give them the new VIN number to update their files, and to also check on a service contract. The woman there took the info and said there was a recall on the vehicle. She made the appointment for the recall for January 7th. I Arrived there and the service rep, Karel, said to please wait while I check to see if we have the part. She checked and they did. I said shouldn't that have been done when they made the appointment? I could have come here for nothing. She replied "Well that didn't happen, did it?" I couldn't believe she said that and I kept quiet, and sat in the lounge until the car was ready. 2 hours and 15 minutes later the car is brought out to me and the driver, Phillip Jackson, says we didn't have the right part. We ordered one and will call you. No apology at all. I said so you wasted my time today after not checking for the part when I made the appointment and also checking for the part and telling me you had the part when I arrived. I was checked in by Karel. Shouldn't this be checked before scheduling an appointment? He said that they had the round pedal and mine required a squared pedal! I said so this visit was a total waste of my time after 2 hours 15 min. He said I had an "attitude". I asked who the service manager was and he said he was. Still not a word of apology. This is a terrible way to run a business. A total disregard for customers time, and no common sense on how to deal with bad situations and their own mistakes. After arriving home, 30 minutes later, I got a call from Karel telling the car was ready and that they had to order the part! More
