I always go to John Robinson and Mark Easter when I want to buy from here. They are always upfront and provide me with the information that I want when I to buy a vehicle. This is hard to find in this busin to buy from here. They are always upfront and provide me with the information that I want when I to buy a vehicle. This is hard to find in this business. Auto Plaza Farmington is engaged in fraudulent business practices, BUYER BEWARE. I bought a truck, 2018 Ram, that sat for a year, I didn’t drive it as it was too small for my needs. I Went to Autoplaza Far practices, BUYER BEWARE. I bought a truck, 2018 Ram, that sat for a year, I didn’t drive it as it was too small for my needs. I Went to Autoplaza Farmington for warranty repairs, it wouldn’t start, and to sell my truck, they are advertising the opportunity to sell versus trade at higher than trade value, great the low value for my truck on trade was $42,000. While my truck was in the shop prior to appraisal I found one which would be better for my needs. My 2018 16870 mile $50,000.00 retail value fully loaded Ram Rebel from that point forward wasn’t worth anything close to trade value, around $9,000 less than kbb trade value not to mention the value to a private party. There was mention of possible “critter” damage, however they had it running with a battery and an alternator, they also said it possibly needed a radio. I asked the salesperson to retrieve my paperwork from the truck and reviewed my warranty with them to ensure that everything would be covered, other than an oft repeated “critter” damage theory. Fast forward and I didn’t get the truck I wanted, so I walked from sales to the service department for an update on the status of my truck. I was told that I had someone jumpstart the truck, wrong. I never attempted a jumpstart. The bill that was now not covered by warranty was suspiciously an exact number. $4,200.00. It’s as if they priced every part to hit exactly zero cents, no tax included, to make this bill. The bill was for the alternator, Battery, a fuse and labor I assume because that’s all they had done to that point, they never handed me a bill or itemized statement, it was verbal you owe $4,200. I am shocked at the cost of such simple work and if you figure it out I had to have paid well over $2,000 for an alternator or they charged me a labor rate of $250.00 plus an hour and doubled the hours for good measure. I was never called to tell me it was not covered by warranty, I was never asked to proceed with out of pocket expenses and never informed of any jumpstart until I asked about my truck. Auto Plaza sales and service are complicit in attempting to defraud me of thousands of dollars, either through exorbitant service costs or by devaluing my truck forcing me to sell them the truck for thousands less than actual value. Do you know what their solution they offered to remedy the fraud they attempted, take the parts off the truck, charge me $140.00 diagnostic fee and push it out the door. I have filed a complaint with the attorney generals office, if you’ve experienced similar behavior or any type of deals that seemed dishonest or like a bait and switch I encourage you to file a complaint with them as well. Honesty, truth in advertising and fairness should never be in question when dealing with any dealership. More
Mark was excellent. He kept me informed along the way while my vehicle was being built. Mark sent me a video of my car when it first hit the lot. while my vehicle was being built. Mark sent me a video of my car when it first hit the lot. More
Overall my experience at this dealership was terrible. I went in with a specific used Jeep Cherokee picked out, and found it on the lot. The salesman came out and pressured me into looking at a brand new Jeep Compass. I felt very uncomfortable with this situation, but felt bad telling the salesman this is not what I wanted. We got as far as talking financing on this vehicle and they told me my payments would be over $500. I told them this was not acceptable plus this wasn't even the vehicle I wanted. Another salesperson got involved and suggested I test-drive the Jeep Cherokee I had come in to look at initially. This is the car I ended up buying. Then we move to the finance department. I financed through the dealership (my mistake) and I had great credit, plus I had a co-signer. My interest rate was higher than I thought it should be, but this was my first experience with financing, and they took advantage of this. Come to find out, they also ran my credit several times on different days. Which, when buying a car it's a hard inquiry and usually if all the inquiries are on the same day, they combine and it doesn't hurt your credit as much. So this really screwed me, and I definitely did not consent to my credit being run after I had bought the car. I also had nothing but issues with this vehicle, oil consumption, electrical, etc. My car stalled on me due to the excessive oil consumption, and I was told to my face that it was basically due to my own stupidity that it happened. I was still a few thousand miles out from my suggested oil change! I was told there was nothing wrong with the vehicle, I just needed to check the oil every time I got gas and get oil changes every 3,000 miles. I felt this was ridiculous especially since this was a 2019 vehicle and I got full synthetic oil changes. A week later, I get a personal phone call from the Auto Plaza in DeSoto and they tell me there is an urgent recall on my Jeep for the excessive oil consumption and I need to get it fixed immediately. I never received a formal recall notice via mail or email, only this personal phone call which I have never gotten before for a recall. I definitely felt like I had been taken advantage of from all angles at this dealership and I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone else. More
