Toyota Care - Not So Much The free car wash has scratched my new 2014 4Runner Trail Edition every time that I have brought in. I watched from the Lexus valet location as the overworked car washers re-used towels to dry off cars coming off the assembly line-like car wash. The last visit was for a 6 month service and the lot jockey that rotated my tires neglected to first take off the center wheel caps before removing the tires. This resulted in a dented wheel cap an another with obvious swirls done by an air gun. The assistant service manager was very apologetic and replace the dented center wheel cap for free. I will never allow Peterson Toyota to wash my car again and doubt that any of the Toyota Care offerings are worth getting my new 4Runner damaged again. More

Service Center- Can't fix sliding door issues. I've had my van for 1 year. Love the van, except the clunk that often occurs in the passenger sliding door. I made the service center aware of the iss I've had my van for 1 year. Love the van, except the clunk that often occurs in the passenger sliding door. I made the service center aware of the issue and requested they fix it at our 5,000 mile Toyota Care Service. They "couldn't duplicate it" even though it happens 1 in every 10 or so open/close actuation. They asked us to wait till the next Toyota Care Service to let it get worse so they can duplicate it and know what to fix. So we just had our 10,000 mile service, and now the door clunks about 1 in 8 actuation. They "couldn't duplicate it" yet again. So rather than request more time with the van, open up the door and find the issue, they stated once again - Wait till your next service, if it we can duplicate it then we can fix it. - This is the path to out of warranty repairs with huge costs on a vehicle we only just paid well over 30k for. I'm not impressed. For those who know what trouble shooting is, yes - duplication is 1 of many steps, but with intermittent issues, you sometimes have to be proactive and actually look into it - as in, open the door up, inspect the motor, change out the motor and cables, lubricate the sliding rails - any number of pro-active things that say - my warranty is doing what it is supposed to do. They have done nothing but change the oil, rotate the tires, and tell me to wait for it to get worse. I hope I didn't just buy another Chevy. More
