Take your vehicle anywhere else My experience here was actually so bad it inspired me to write a review to warn others. If you have the option to have your car serviced anywhere else My experience here was actually so bad it inspired me to write a review to warn others. If you have the option to have your car serviced anywhere else besides here, do it. Once they have you're car do not expect to get any updates. The work I needed done was supposed to be done by the end of the day; a day later, 4 phone calls, 3 transfers 4 hold times over 5 minutes, I decided the only way to get a real answer was to go in. When I went in the work was done. I then requested to speak to a manager about my experience but was informed there was no manager in the entire dealership during middle of the afternoon during normal work hours. Not taking no for an answer I walked into the main sales area and began speaking very loudly about my experience and the fact there was no manager around potential car buying customers, the employees decided it was worth the time to call the manager. After waiting another 10 minutes, I finally was able to see the service department manager whe then proceeded to give the generic "we've been having technical issues, someone's working on it....." Point of the story, if you get maintenance on your car you will not be able to get any update on the status, will receive terrible service, and don't expect to see a manager unless you interrupt the gravy train. While searching for a used truck I came across Anderson's Toyota website. At the time they were advertising a truck that I was looking for. I contacted the dealership and spoke with Cassidy on Wed Anderson's Toyota website. At the time they were advertising a truck that I was looking for. I contacted the dealership and spoke with Cassidy on Wednesday. We discussed details and set and appt. for Friday. I informed her that I live in charleston and had to arrange work schedule to make this happen. At 10:50 Friday morning Cassidy called me and confirmed our appointment and assured me that she would have the truck out and ready for a test drive. I told her I would call when finished work and leaving charleston. I called her at 11:46 am and informed her that I was on the way. She again said that she would have the truck ready. PLEASE READ ON this is when it gets bad!!! Upon arriving, Cassidy is nowhere to be found. Another sales member informs me that the truck was sold at 9:00am that very same morning. Now remember Cassidy told me she would have the truck out and ready twice after it was sold. The sales member did have another truck for me to look at for several thousand dollars more. Can we say BAIT AND SWITCH!!!! After speaking with Luis Fernandez, the customer relations manager, who did little more than make excuses for the situation. I realized that it was a wasted day and waste of gas. Oh yes, Luis did offer a free oil change that I would have to drive 2 hours to get. I wonder if the Anderson's know how their business is being run. More
Classic “bait and switch” headed by manager Jimmy Carter. Internet and sales staff lure you in with a fake sticker, that includes prep., etc., and then once you come in, add $1,200 of extra’s on, with no op Internet and sales staff lure you in with a fake sticker, that includes prep., etc., and then once you come in, add $1,200 of extra’s on, with no option to remove. Old school tactics, of keeping your trade keys, while they attempt to wear you down additional offers and meet the sales manager. All of which are much higher than internet pricing. The internet department does not exist. Basically you have one receptionist who sets the appointments, no sales staff will work with you via the internet. She is the only conduit to get you to come in then sales will orchestrate the bait and switch. More

On Thursday, September 5, 2013, I took a day off from work and drove 100 miles from my house to Columbia, SC. to see a 2012 Toyota Avalon. When I arrived to the dealership the car was not there. I was work and drove 100 miles from my house to Columbia, SC. to see a 2012 Toyota Avalon. When I arrived to the dealership the car was not there. I was told I was coming to test drive the car and I was prepared to purchase the vehicle. But I was told the car was in Raleigh, NC!!!!! I took a day off work to make this transaction and she waits until I get there to tell me the car was in Raleigh. To make matters worse a manager comes in and tells me if I pay a transfer fee and commit to buy the car he could get the car to Columbia. I feel as though this was the most ignorant proposition ever. As if this would make everything better. Why would I commit to buy a car I have not seen nor test drove. Do not do business with TOYOTA CENTER in Columbia, SC More
Called about a Toyota Tundra on Wed and discussed truck. I made an appointment for Friday morning to see the truck. Friday morning the dealership called and confirmed the appointment. We drove 45 minutes t I made an appointment for Friday morning to see the truck. Friday morning the dealership called and confirmed the appointment. We drove 45 minutes to dealership. The used car salesman did not have a clue what truck we were talking about and hadn't seen that truck even after I showed on my phone the truck that they have on their internet site.. After finding Dawn from Customer Resource who made our appointment, she had to make two different calls and finally the answer received was that the truck "supposedly" sold that morning. Well, it is amazing to me if truck sold that morning why the used car guy hadn't seen it or knew nothing about it. I believe it was a bait and switch. I was very upset this was the truck I had been looking for - for two years. And if it sold that morning then why not call and inform me since they knew that was the truck I was coming to see. Then when I asked about the 25.00 gift card for coming in (had filled out all the info online), they acted like I was being a bother to them. Also found out the gift card has to be mailed and not received at the time. We will see whether that is even true or not in few days. I was very disappointed and was very mislead. So if you are going there to see a truck/car you saw on internet, be sure the vehicle is even there. If it sounds too good to be true, then it usually is. More
After visiting with another dealer the previous evening, I was frustrated and tired. I found the Toyota Center's online price and locked it in. I told Walter what my ceiling price was and he did everything I was frustrated and tired. I found the Toyota Center's online price and locked it in. I told Walter what my ceiling price was and he did everything he could to get it as close as possible. The dealer was extremely busy that day and I was the last person to buy a car. The dealership closed at 7. I hadn't even gotten around to signing my paperwork yet. Walter and one of their finance guys stayed well after closing time to be sure everything was handled properly. They were not pushy and listened to what I told them. They didn't tell me they would "be right back" every few minutes as if checking on things with the manager. When I finally left, I drove away in my very first brand new car. A 2013 Toyota Tundra. I forgot to mention that Walter was actually off the day I called and scheduled my test drive. Wen I mentioned his name to the operator, he was contacted and came in to help me. Thank you for taking the time from your day off to help me out! I really appreciate it! More
I purchased a vehicle from this dealership, a 2007 Ford Mustang GT which I liked very much. My original communication had been via Internet and I have no complaints from that aspect as the Internet Custom Mustang GT which I liked very much. My original communication had been via Internet and I have no complaints from that aspect as the Internet Customer Service was excellent. Based on that experience, I drove right at a hundred miles to look at the vehicle, which I did purchase. On-site, everyone was friendly and courteous and we reached an agreement on price, interest rate and I thought, financial institution. However, approximately two weeks later when I received my first payment notice - the notice came from a different bank whose name had never been brought up during negotiations - a bank which I absolutely refuse to deal with in any way, shape, form or fashion. When I called the dealership about this I was told to look at my paperwork - which I did - and found that the bank's name had been rubber stamped at the very bottom of one single piece of paper. It may have been there when I signed the papers but I never noticed it. If I had I never would have signed the papers. Now I can't honestly say that the name had not been there all along because I did not read every word of every line on every piece of paper - but I can honestly say this, the name of the bank in question never came up, not one single time, during the entire purchasing process. Since only one bank had been discussed I assumed that was the bank we were dealing with. However we all know what happens when we assume. I was speaking with the person who had drew up the paperwork and, when I explained the situation, was basically told "That's the way it is - live with it." Those are not the exact words but that was the short and long of it. I had left a message for the owner earlier and he did call me back. I explained to him what had happend and he said he couldn't promise me anything but he would see what could be worked out and get back with me that afternoon. Two days later I still have not heard back from him. Should I have read every single line on every sheet of paper? Most definitely - but few people do. Should the dealership have made sure that all terms of the loan were understood, especially the name of the financial instution that the loan was coming from - again - most definitely. I have since rectifide the situation by arranging for my own finanacing however, will I do business with this dealership again, or recommend them to anyone else - most definitely not. More
