My visit to Kings Honda has been the most frustrating buying experience I remember in last 4 years. Naturally, I had researched enough and requested quotes from multiple dealers around my area and as part of my negotiations Jeff Butler promised me that he will beat any best quote I could find by atleast $100 which prompted me to stop shopping around at one point and visited the dealer ship fully prepared to buy and bring home a new car. When at the dealership, Syed Hussain received me and we went through the pricing once more after test driving the new car. Frustration 1 - I again had to spend about 15 minutes sending the message across that I had best offer of $xyz out of door from a different dealer, so expecting $xyz-100 from Kings Honda. After few trips to his manager office by Syed (though it was confirmed by Jeff in his email) finally he came back with the price I was expecting and promised in email. Frustration 2 - Syed kept referring to the wrong price and I had to remind again and again, and for long time he was not ready to put the price on paper until he discussed the extended warranty and additional accessories. Frustration 3 - I declined extended warranty, paint protection because they did not make sense for my situation or usage and Syed and at one point Jeff pressured me with discount offers but I eventually declined. NOTE at this point the price was still not put on paper for reasons unknown but I was verbally promised for a certain price on out of the door cost. Frustration 4 - Accessories. I was interested in two accessories on top of what comes standard in Accord EXL, but I figured out comparing with Honda prices and accessory cost are higher and labor is almost 100% of accessory cost. So I declined those. Syed kept negotiating and kept telling me the labor costs are same else where - so my point why shouldnt I shop around for a cheaper options and dealer just sell the standard car - for reasons unknown Syed was very keen on selling me accessories and warranty. Frustration 5 - Even after multiple reminders Syed is still not ready to put price commitment on paper and at this point I have spent about 2.5 hours already at the dealer. Frustration 6 - Finally after filling out the finance papers, Syed puts the price on paper - takes my signature as confirmation that I will buy the car for that price (NOTE no APR% committed yet) Frustration 7 - Jeff Butler comes all of a sudden and tells me he cannot sell the car for the price Syed just put on paper few minutes ago and had me signed as confirmation. NO counter offer, just a plain message that they cannot sell the car at the price they have promised few minutes/hours ago. I tried to get an answer but the response was - WE JUST CANT SELL AT THAT PRICE. So not sure what changed between a commitment and a back off by the Jeff and Syed. Now that I think - was the dealer trying to make money on extended warranties, accessories? Why was no response provided me and left me with just nothing after spending about 3 hours at the dealer with my family. Later in the day, I went to a different dealer and drove out with a new Accord EXL with 5 miles on the car in just under ONE HOUR. Yes, just under one hour with the exact same choices. No one pressured me for extended warranties, no pressure on buying accessories, Honda priced accessories and minimal labor cost. I was told the APR % and out of the door car price before I signed, and no one backed off. Very clearly there is a difference in how other dealers treat their customers. I am not going to recommend Kings Honda based on my experience. More
I was able to take advantage of a great lease special that the dealership was having for Black Friday, and although it had to be a quick purchase decision, the process couldn't have been smoother. Marty that the dealership was having for Black Friday, and although it had to be a quick purchase decision, the process couldn't have been smoother. Marty from sales is awesome! Marty was extremely helpful, honest, and 100% trustworthy. He went out of his way to help me, and I never felt like I was being pushed or tricked into buying "extras". He made sure to answer any questions I had, and somehow managed to make signing dozens of papers an enjoyable process! I will definitely be giving his business card to anyone I know who's looking for a new/used car! Great dealership, my family has gone here for years, long before their move. A main reason why I chose to get a Honda again was because of the quality service and friendly people at King's Honda. More
Marty was very good and very objective with us. He was looking at used cars from our perspective and not from the perspective of someone simply trying to make a sale. We were comfortable with his sales a looking at used cars from our perspective and not from the perspective of someone simply trying to make a sale. We were comfortable with his sales approach. More
My original perception was this was going to be a great experience. Everyone was very friendly, no higher pressure tactics and I really wanted to purchase from this location. On Nov 9,2013 I went here experience. Everyone was very friendly, no higher pressure tactics and I really wanted to purchase from this location. On Nov 9,2013 I went here with the intentions of purchasing a 2010 Chevy Traverse. After looking at the numbers it didn't workout so I purchased my second option. Everything was going great until the end when Marc went to give me the keys and I asked for a second key. Marc Kowalk told me the previous owner dinky gave them one key so that's all he was giving me. This was unacceptable so I went to see Jeff Butler, the sales manager. Jeff told me the same thing. I was very disappointed because here I am spend $13,000 on a vehicle and you guys are too cheap to give me a second key. I was too tired and hungry after being there for more than five hours to argue over a key so I left with one key. Later on that night as we were driving home we noticed a headlight was out. My wife called Marc and he told her to bring it back on Monday to get it serviced. I didn't want to make a 100 mile round trip for a headlight so I emailed and called Jeff to see about purchasing one and them reimbursing me. He told me to go ahead and email him the receipt. I did that on Nov 11th and I've yet to receive my reimbursement. On Nov15 I received an email from Andy French, general sales manager asking how my experience went. I proceeded to tell him about the key and the headlight and I how I felt they let a key and headlight leave a sour taste with a customer instead of focusing on future referrals or a repeat customer. I have yet to hear back from him either. Turns out because the key has a chip in it I had to pay $74 for that key. I felt like I at least deserved a phone call. More
Being on Kings Honda internet sales email list was helpful as it alerted us to a 'Black Friday' (Thanksgiving) Holiday sale which had very favorable 'no haggle' price for a Honda Civic. As a service helpful as it alerted us to a 'Black Friday' (Thanksgiving) Holiday sale which had very favorable 'no haggle' price for a Honda Civic. As a service/sales 'bonus' their dealership has a Keurig coffee / hot chocolate machine which is VERY handy to have while you wait and/or discuss things with the sales etc. teams. They have been very good in working to help my son get financing for his 1st new car - trying several different approaches for financing. Really appreciate their extra efforts to work out the financing for him. Have a GREAT week - Joe More
Car buying for me is always a difficult, grueling experience. I first started communicating with Angel via email where I described what I was looking for and she got back to me very quickly. I live experience. I first started communicating with Angel via email where I described what I was looking for and she got back to me very quickly. I live about 45 minutes away from the dealer and she gave me prices over the phone without any hassle or problem. I was still a bit apprehensive about the interaction until I got to the dealership. Angel was very kind and got right to the point. She didn't try to inflate the pricing or play any games regarding the purchase of the car. It was an easy, enjoyable experience. I cannot say enough how much I appreciated her help. She even offered to give me a bag to empty out the belongings of my old vehicle. Thank you again Kings Honda and Angel, you've made me a very happy customer... you guys will have my business as long as I live in the area!!! More
The dealership GM is great to deal with --- despite any confusion, Mike made sure things were right for me. I really appreciate his hard work. confusion, Mike made sure things were right for me. I really appreciate his hard work. More
We were passing through from out of town and our Pilot broke down just up the road from Kings. We found ourselves having to trade it in on the spot. We didn't have high hopes for getting a good deal, but broke down just up the road from Kings. We found ourselves having to trade it in on the spot. We didn't have high hopes for getting a good deal, but we left with a 2014 Accord and feel really good about the purchase. The salespeople we worked with were fantastic. We feel they went over and beyond their job, for example, when it was time to fill up my new car for us to leave, the salesman used his own money because the Honda company card wouldn't work at the place we went to. Also, we had our dog with us for the whole time we were there, and everyone was very understanding about it. They even let the dog test drive the car with us :-) Really glad we ended up at Kings! In the future if we need another Honda we would drive 1.5 hours to go back to Kings. More
My buying experience was friendly. I did not like Jeff being vague on the financing terms and rate. He seemed to gloss over the details of the actual finance terms and wanted us to quickly sign up. being vague on the financing terms and rate.
