A few days ago I received an unexpected call from Jimmie Whorley, the Lease Renewal Manger at Performance Ford who made me an offer I could not refuse. I have been repeatedly leasing cars from Jimmy every three years. Was currently leasing a 2019 Ford Escape. Loved the car but with inflation as it is, taxes and the Dow in free fall, I’ve been wondering how I could ever afford to lease a new car this coming fall. Jimmy had the answer. Three years into my current lease I’ve only driven it a little over 6,000 miles because I’ve been a stay-at-home as much as possible during the pandemic years. It was still almost a new car and dealerships are looking for good used cars. The answer? An early trade-in that would benefit both Ford and myself. Once a decision was made and a price I could A-FORD (pun intended) agreed upon, Delivery Consultant Joseph Boscarino who has many times in years past sat with me in a new Ford Escape to review the multiple astounding improvements every new Ford car has. Remembering me just like Jimmy, Joe tolerantly answered me every time I asked, “Could you repeat that again?” When satisfied, I moved on to the office of Business Manager Julian Perez to sign all the papers needed to conclude the new lease agreement as quickly as possible. When all was finished I received a flash drive containing all the paperwork. That’s business in the twenty-first century. I fully expect to see Jimmy, Joe and Julian again in another three years.
