Took a day to drive out of state to pick up a CPO low mileage Jeep Cherokee here. I thought paying the CPO premium would entail getting a quality vehicle that had been inspected and brought up to a premi mileage Jeep Cherokee here. I thought paying the CPO premium would entail getting a quality vehicle that had been inspected and brought up to a premium condition. Interacting ahead of time I was told it was clean and didn't show much in the way of cosmetic damage, had clean lines indicating well fixed after an incident that was listed on the carfax. In person this was not very accurate IMO. After trailering it home found that the Dash was way off (dash doesn't zero for RPM or MPH, it rests at 20PMH and reads 60 if doing 40, etc..). Passenger seatbelt is broken and wont release. The key was never cut on the fob. The driver seat controls were un clipped and pushed under the seat. Door frame showed damage from a hit and wasn't repainted/ fixed in full. Door showed rubbing from after replacement indicating poor fitament and had exposed metal on front quarter and the door from the rub. This list could go on but these were the things that irritated me the most. For the first week it feels like every time I get in this car its something new that isn't right and doesn't live up to what I thought a CPO should be. My understanding of what a CPO Jeep entails may be off, but this Jeep feels like the inspections were pencil whipped and leave me concerned what else I'll find in the future. In the future I wont entertain the notion of out of state purchases as I probably would have passed on this purchase if I hadn't felt invested by already taking a day off work and renting equipment to get it home. More
