On or about May 25th I found a vehicle on Autotrader. com that the dealership was selling. I contacted DJ Dougherty, internet sales manager. We were offered a sale price and trade in value on the sale of com that the dealership was selling. I contacted DJ Dougherty, internet sales manager. We were offered a sale price and trade in value on the sale of said vehicle on 5/30 but we wanted a diff color. They did not have the color but had located one that would be delivered by EOM June. DJ advised me that they were willing to do the same deal on that vehicle if we were willing to wait for its delivery. We accepted their terms and agreed to the sale agreement. DJ responded back that the vehicle is marked sold to us. When the vehicle came in we scheduled an appointment to sign the paperwork and pick up the car. DJ was not available so his son James handled the paperwork. We went to our bank, got a cashiers check for the agreed upon cash diff and went to the dealership. James started the paperwork and after about an hour he came back to us (directed by manager Bobby Lobato) and said that due to a change in the market they couldn't honor the sale agreement they offered and offered $1500.00 less on our trade in then what they had already committed to when the vehicle sale/order occurred. We were very upset and were going to leave disappointed that we had expected to buy a new vehicle and invested a lot of time in the process (shopping, negotiating a sale and at the lot to pick up the vehicle). I decided to confront/discuss with the sales manager (Bobby) and he said that it is their company policy not to give trade in values during price negotiations and only do them at point of sale. I advised him that as a customer I was not informed of their company policy and that DJ did in fact give me a breakdown of the sale with a trade in value and we relied on that price in accepting the offer. We agreed to pay an additional $500 in cash to close the sale even though it was not our original agreed upon sale price that the dealership and I had agreed to. I will not buy from them ever again. More

They helped us focus on ordering a vehicle at cost, financed using the buy rate, and did not try to upsell us on a single thing. The paperwork was smooth, and they didn't use any negotiation tactics. It was as close as you can come to buying a car like it's a loaf of bread at the grocery store, already marked with a clear, fair price (and in ton of WA state's lower taxed counties). I would recommend this particular dealership and DJ to anyone buying a Subaru, ever, and only wish they sold more makes so that customers shopping for other vehicles could enjoy working with this dealership. Carmen Oliver was our primary contact at the dealership after receiving information on a trade in/new car offer. While Carmen was finishing with a prior commitment Richard showed us the new '23 Subaru Out after receiving information on a trade in/new car offer. While Carmen was finishing with a prior commitment Richard showed us the new '23 Subaru Outback. He was able to point out features that were identical on the '18 model while emphasizing the upgrades in features with the newer model. We found him very responsive to our questions and concerns. Carmen walked us through the transfer of ownership after the car was inspected. She found a new model that will be ready for us in the following week with the treatments that had been requested. Final signatures were taken care of quietly off the main floor with a careful explanation of the car warranty by Andrew Cheney. This is one of several Subaru's we have purchased at Peninsula Subaru. We return to this dealership because of the excellent service we have experienced repeatedly with them. More
