Tag-teamed by various staff members from the minute I walked into the dealership with the obligatory "talks with the manager" taking place at regular intervals. Ultimately opted for a "doable" negotiat walked into the dealership with the obligatory "talks with the manager" taking place at regular intervals. Ultimately opted for a "doable" negotiated monthly rate on the vehicle after discussions with the first two staff members regarding down payment, allotted annual mileage, and declined protection plans only to be directed to the Finance Manager's office for final signatures and told that a down payment was not advisable. After revising the previously negotiated terms of the contract based on his recommendations, the lease agreement- minus any down payment - was printed, signed, and I was escorted to the vehicle. After noting that the various "deals" and "incentives" emphasized during the lease process were standard in similar lease programs and of very little long-term benefit to the consumer, I attempted to contact Ford Credit within 36-48 hours to request any possibility of a modification of the lease agreement based on my initial intent to apply a down payment toward the transaction and was advised I would need to contact the Finance Manager at the dealership to address this issue. Immediately contacted the Finance Manager at the dealership and was advised the paperwork was in transit and "he could do nothing more at this point" despite the fact that the initial payment on the lease will not be due until approximately 1/8/24. I have been a Peacock Ford customer for many years through two prior leases but will cease doing business with this dealership for all future vehicle transactions. More
