Hello, we've reviewed your repair and found that the technician did indeed perform a full diagnostic. With an overheating condition, the first thing that will shut down to avoid further overheating is your A/C. That would likely explain the A/C issue. We would need to perform further tear-down to give you an accurate estimate of repairs, but you chose to not move forward. Tear down is the only way to assess this sort of engine failure. Below is more specifically what the technician did and reflects the notes on your invoice vehicle towed into shop vehicle has no start situation check battery found battery dead charged and tested battery battery passed found starter burnt out checked condition of engine to determine cause of starter failure attempted to turn engine by hand engine would not turn removed engine belt to check all rotating components none locked up or seized removed upper intake to gain access to spark plugs removed all spark plugs attempted to turn engine by hand engine turned at this time large amount of water/coolant came out of cyl #3 coolant overflow/recover degas bottle empty added water to system pressure tested system found water flowing into cyl #3 vehicle has head gasket or possible engine damage IE crack cyl needs head gasket replaced or possible engine replacement OWNER DECLINED ALL REPAIRERS A THIS TIME to include starter

What overheating issues? My vehicle never indicated that it was overheating not one time since I had it for 4 years.. Not once! I didn't bring it in because it was overheating. The computer read a cylinder 3 misfire.The service advisor Vinny said yesterday to me when I ask him about the missing coolant and wiring that wasn't put back he said all they removed was the intake manifold.. In his words.

Also It says in the diagnostic review that he clearly removed the belt and my mechanic explained to me that you didn't put it back.. When your advisor text me and told me to give a couple of days to put the components back obviously that wasn't done.! Vinny the tech told me only thing that was removed was the intake manifold. Obviously that's not all that as removed so there is miscommunication with the tame h jn the mechanic then. I just want my vehicle back the way I gave it to the dealership.. With my coolant back.

The cylinder 3 misfire is due to coolant leaking into the cylinder. The only way that can occur is by an overheating condition that would compromise the head gasket and/or warp the cylinder head surface allowing coolant to leak into the cylinder. If you would like us to go over it and ensure everything is put back correctly, we would more than happy to do so!
