I was satisfie Gene Miller helped me locate the color and options I wanted on this model. He had a driver promptly retrieve the car from Chicago area. I was satisfied with the pricing and deal. He aided in quick financing and trade in.. although I wound up letting my niece buy my trade in. I would do business with Paul Miller & Sons again. I just wished I lived closer to utilize their service department. More
Worst Experience Ever Worst most unprofessional experience ever! I went in with my husband and 6 month old son to view a couple cars as seen on the internet. Bobby Miller Worst most unprofessional experience ever! I went in with my husband and 6 month old son to view a couple cars as seen on the internet. Bobby Miller came out with a key to a car I was looking at, tossed it at me then turned around and went back into the dealership - no explanation or anything. He was gone 15 minutes as we walked around in the extremely cold windy weather to look at other vehicles. When he came back I had settled on 2 that I liked and decided to talk inside out of the weather. My husband stepped outside and Bobby and I were going to talk about my trade-in but he first got on his phone and called his mother, again with no real explanation or "Hey, I need to call her about or because...", he just got on the phone and talked to her while I sat there awkwardly. Then he went and talked to his (brother, I think) about my car and came back. He then actually told me that what he would give me for my trade-in would depend on which car I wanted - he would give me $1000 more money for my trade-in if I bought the cheaper car (which I already said no to because it was older than I thought) because the more expensive car I was interested in was going to cost him more to replace because the newer models were more expensive (why would I pay more so he could buy another car??)! He also was only offering absolutely the bottom dollar on my fully loaded car (way less than even a poor value on Kelly Blue Book). He stated this was because it wasn't a 4x4. I completely understood where he was coming from but I did feel this was lower than I was comfortable with, so I stated (very politely) that I would probably prefer to sell it myself and come back with cash to put down on a vehicle - I thought this was reasonable and even though he had been rude and disinterested I was trying to end the transaction on a positive note and possibly return to do business at a later date. He acted angry and started to argue with me about how a car like mine sat on his lot for a year and he has people drive out of state to take advantage of his prices...I said that was fine and I understand but $2,000 for a fully loaded Eddie Bauer Expedition in great condition was just lower than I expected but I would come back with cash after selling it myself because it wasn't like I was under a time constraint (I really truly was not being argumentative or having an attitude, just honestly stating I personally felt the offer was low but I understood why and that didn't mean I wouldn't do business I just thought I would get a better offer elsewhere by privately selling). My husband then came in (having heard none of the conversation, of course) and when I told him the offer he stated he was also surprised as he just sold his old work truck that was beat to xxxx for several times that to Mark Martin Chevrolet (he wasn't arguing but he did state he was surprised). Bobby Miller responded by jumping out of his chair, saying I AM DONE here I won't argue or listen to attitude! and storming out of the room! My husband and I just sat there a second, honestly stunned at what had just happened. He then came back to the doorway and actually raised his voice and yells at us..."And did you just say xxxxxxx to me? (yes, he spelled it) Did YOU??? I THOUGHT SO!!" and stormed away again!! I understand that my husband used poor language and I don't approve either (he works in a male-dominated industry and picks up bad habits) but Bobby Miller honestly overreacted completely and really kind of scared me storming around like that. The worst part was that my poor baby was really scared by the interaction (he was too scared to even cry or fuss and grabbed ahold of me so tight I had to carry him to the car without a coat on myself because he wouldn't let go so I could put my coat on). He almost wouldn't let me put him into his car seat because he was freaked out. I was happy my husband was there as I was startled that a man would get loud and vocal like that in a professional setting and I would have really been afraid had he not been there. I have worked in customer service for years and have maintained a cool and professional attitude through some crazy situations...but I have never seen an adult in a professional situation act in such a childish and overbearing manner. I always heard this was a decent family owned business, and I am sure this never would have happened if his father was still running the place but as it is now I would not take a vehicle if he offered to give it to me and I recommend anyone interested in a vehicle go ANYWHERE else.
