This place is TERRIBLE. Like other reviews have said, I went in for a simple service on my vehicle & the service girl tried to talk me into spending WAY more money on things that did NOT need to be done. While in the market for a new vehicle, a few models that Honda offered had come to mind. I stopped in at this dealership for some close-up research in a new vehicle, and was greeted by a very friendly and Honda offered had come to mind. Luis answered all of my questions truthfully, quickly, and confidently, and was eager for me to test drive a few vehicles to get a better feel for each car. He offered plenty of options in financing and vehicle choices--from new to used, leasing to purchasing. In the end, by personal preference, I had not chosen to purchase a Honda, although I felt that this dealership (Luis especially) had gone out of its way to provide the best in customer service, regardless of the outcome. During a recent visit for a routine oil change I was advised that the car needed about $2,700 in repairs. The car has about 26,000 miles and the repairs indicated included 4 new tires, control arm and advised that the car needed about $2,700 in repairs. The car has about 26,000 miles and the repairs indicated included 4 new tires, control arm and sway bar bushings, broken transmission mounts, brakes, a drive belt and cabin filter. The car was service some 2,000 miles before and the other Honda dealer did not indicate any of these problems. The car is in excellent condition. Another Honda dealer and an independent garage indicated that thses repairs were not needed. During their inspection it was found that this dealer had disconnected and never reconnected a breather hose from the air clearer to the top of the engine. I believe this dealer is padding repair estimates to generate work that is not needed. The dealership was also slow in responding to my complaint. There was not sense of urgency displayed. More
My husband and I just leased a 2011 Accord and our son was buying out our end of lease 2007 Accord. We weren't sure how complicated the paper work would be on these transaction. We found him to be very helpful, personable, and very patient in walking us through the new lease and the purchase of the expiring lease. We had an overall pleasant experience and would recommend Mr. Gentile and this dealership. We plan to return when our new lease is completed. We would strongly reccomend that you request Mr. Lou Gentile if you contact or visit this dealership. More
Lou Gentile was excellent to work with. He was patient and knowledgeable, taking time to get to know us and find out what we wanted in a new car. He allowed us both to drive a model on all types of local and knowledgeable, taking time to get to know us and find out what we wanted in a new car. When we picked up the car he spent time reviewing all the on-board features, and he has followed up through email. Buying a car is a big deal for us, so the continued communication with Paul Miller is quite valuable. More
My experience at Paul Miller Honda in West Caldwell was wonderful. Laurel Izzi is a wonderful sales person and just what I needed. She was patient and did not pressure me at all. She was very knowledgeable about the vehicles and really wanted to make sure that all our questions were answered before we left. I went back twice and called her three times before making my decision and she was very patient with me. What began as a search for a used vehicle for my daughter turned into a sale of new vehicle for me even though I had another year to go on my lease of a 2008 CRV. Daniel tried his best to help me find a used jeep (car of her choice) but the one they had on their lot was already sold. This is how our on-line relationship started. My 2008 lease had come from Essex Honda, the previoius owner at the Paul Miller location in West Caldwell. Daniel checked in with me over the next several weeks that I was searching for a used vehicle to see what progress I was making and to see if he could help. We began talking about a new lease for me and he made me a deal that I could not refuse. Given how many sales people "low ball" you just to get you into the dealership, Daniel was true to his word when I did come in and the deal was cut with even a lower out of pocket expense then we discussed on-line (how often does that happen!!). I even receievd a check for about $20 bucks back from the dealership when I picked up my plates because they said I paid too much for the registration...(most dealers would probaly have pocketed the difference). If you want a great deal and a no hassle experience with a real gentlemen who is honest...search out Daniel Eller at Paul Miller Honda in West Caldwell. I'll be back myself in three years (..or less..) More
My wife and I happened to stop in at this dealership although we had not planned to look at a Honda. We came across the 2010 Insight and loved it's looks and mileage estimate. Dan came over and was very helpful in helping us look at the interior and engine. Dan was a very low pressure salesman and set up the leasing details for us. At no point did we feel that we were obligated to get it until the final signing of the contract papers. Overall, a very good experience and would recommend Paul Miller (and Dan)to new customers. KIM/sales & ED/finance along with front desk PAUL all stand up guys certainly those who anyone would want to do business with. Sentiment is I went to buy a car but extended family this sounds corny but it's from the heart. i've been to at least 3 prior dealerships & i'd send any one of them to learn from Paul Miller, truly the kind of desirable life experience under the circumstances of needing that which represents our greatest freedom, our personal transportation. i even wanted the tires on my trade-in (better condition than on the certified 2006 Honda had) swapped onto the purchased Honda, without hesitation granted with a smile. i'll be back but only to extend appreciation with a gift for each, along with word of mouth promotion with anyone possible beginning with family & friends in need of a new or used car purchase...Thanks Paul Miller Dealership U guys R great!
