Brain, I appreciate your reaching out. As a professional who deals with customers and customer service on a daily basis I was astounded to be spoken to this way. Initially, I was disheartened to be referred to as "hun" by Matt and more dismayed that the Sales Manger would ask me if i was "one of those chicks that sits in the passenger seat and bitches all the time". I did not say anything at the time because I was in the middle of signing papers and frankly was so taken aback I didn't know what to say. Obviously, the drop in communication once I had signed papers and length of time for repairs was frustrating but I could have dealt with that. I get it takes time to make repairs etc and was patient while I made the effort to maintain communication. That all being said, being verbally berated by Lonny in the parking lot to the point that people started looking at us was not only embarrassing but infuriating. I do not think it is acceptable to bring up a customer service issue then be lambasted for it. I understand that the customer isn't always right (believe me!) but other than the icey stares and lack of acknowledgement (my husband commented immediately about the reception) when I came in to pick up my car, I didn't even know that Lonny had intercepted my email to Jackie (whom I contacted because I had started the process with and she was the most professional person I had dealt with) until he confronted me about it. Truly, I feel he should have either apologized or just not said anything. Honestly, I am still rather astounded that someone who is supposed to be a professional customer service person would speak to a client in such a rude and condescending manner. And truly, beyond condescending to the point of being insulting and completely disrespectful. It's obviously up to you how you handle this situation but I certainly can not see myself ever returning for my next car purchase or service. I would be hard pressed to recommend Patriot to anyone fearing they would have the same experience. I would be happy to provide further information if you would like me to. I do plan on following up with the dealership owner and with Subaru as a corporation because I feel it is important for them to know how their employees interact with their customers. We contacted the reviewer and did open the lines of communication. We interviewed everyone here who was involved, and learned as much as we could about what happened. In situations like this, we learned that sometimes when there is tension between personalities, it is best to step in and let another associate work with the client. We strive to do the very best, but we are not perfect. Our associate expressed that there was some back and forth that initiated the tension, and in frustration, words were said that added to the problem. That is something we can learn from, and we'll resolve to make better choices in the future. Hopefully the last communication we initiated with the customer was a step in the right direction.
