I needed to turn in my 2008 Impala lease and wanted to get an SUV. I was shopping around and found Pat Milliken through Ford's website. I sent them an email about an Escape and I got an email and phone call from Don within about an hour. We talked about what I was looking for and my payment. Later that afternoon, Don called back and had an Escape on the lot with what I was looking for and a payment less than what we had discussed. I came into the dealership the next day for a test drive. I was sold and we completed all the paperwork, turned in my Chevy and had my new Ford the next day. Everything was easy and Don was great to work with. He even helped my connect my phone to the car so I can make phone calls through the car. Thanks again. I highly recommend! More
I went to this dealership because they had they least invasive bad reviews on Google. I got all the work done to buy a new car. I was told it takes 6 hours to install remote start, which was a red flag to me right away. So I still came in to buy the car, on the drive to the dealer, I was told one of my remotes didn't work and had to be sent back. I got the feeling pretty strongly at this point that I was being lied to. So when I went to pick up my car, I had one simple request. "Show me the bad remote". That's a simple thing. My feeling was that they forgot to order it and didn't want to admit it. So easy enough to prove. Just get the remote and show it to me. Well, my sales person avoided the topic and kept ignoring my requests. I decided I was not going to let it go. So after an hour or more of paperwork, I said you have been avoiding my simple request the whole time. and I was serious I wanted to know the dealership wasn't lying. Well, all of the sudden, the tone changed and every excuse was made to avoid the topic. Evan so far as to tell me he couldn't show it to me, because he went back there and it was dark. (seriously?) I am very tired of being treated like cattle at dealerships. So I told him to show me, or lose the sale, so he brought me into the manager, and his demeanor was horrible. His name was Ray Nabozny. Up until that point I was still ready to resolve things, but Ray was so belligerent, that I walked away from the deal. I would up standing in the cold with a two year old for a half hour waiting for my ride to come back. I don't think these places are going to change any time soon, but I hope people stop being okay with bad customer service. That's all I wanted. To know I wasn't lied to. I felt pretty angry afterward and was reviewing the whole scenario in my mind. I was wondering if I was being unreasonable, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized it was a simple request and they avoided it for only one reason. They lied and rather than just say it to me, they got nasty to me and told me to "walk". When sales go fine, they go fine, but if you want to know how a dealership REALLY is, watch what happens when things don't go according to plan. That is when you truly know a business. Don Barker was great to work with, he gave us up front pricing and the Fusion we bought is wonderful. I escpecially like the sync feature. Don was very thorough when he showed us the car.
