I was, and am always, very satisfied with the superior customer service Passport provides. Because of that, I am encouraging my husband as well as friends and family members to buy BMW. I would recommend this dealer over the rest of the BMW dealers in the area. The sales team is highly experienced, knowledgeable, honest, responsive and willing to go the extra mile to make a deal. I did an extensive search and talked to most of the dealers in the area, i.e.; Fairfax, Sterling, Rockville VOB, Tischer Silver Spring and I can vouch for Passport BMW over all of them for the price and the sales personnel. I am extremely satisfied and would recommend Passport BMW to anyone who is in the market for a new BMW. More
We just traded in our relatively new BMW purchased from Passport BMW. Sadly, we found out some very disturbing facts about the BMW Extended Service Contract and the BMW Extended Maintenance Plan that Passp Passport BMW. Sadly, we found out some very disturbing facts about the BMW Extended Service Contract and the BMW Extended Maintenance Plan that Passport sold to us. First off, when sold the car, Passport attempted to sell us a third party extended warranty without informing us that it wasn't actually a true BMW factory warranty. We caught them at it and received the actual factory warranty after demanding it instead. Another issue regarding both of these extended contracts is Passport never told us that they have suggested retail prices for these plans and that they can basically charge whatever they decide or can negotiate from you. I believe if something has an MSRP, you should be informed about it. In regards to the BMW Extended Maintenance Plan, Passport never told us that this $2,195 contract designed to cover the maintenance costs for mileage between 50,000 and 100,000 miles actually belongs to the vehicle, NOT YOU, and that once you buy it, you cannot be refunded any money unless the vehicle is wrecked and deemed a total loss. We lost that $2,195 when we traded in this vehicle with less than 50,000 miles because of this serious information omission. It was a case of: sign this, sign this, sign this, etc. As for the BMW Extended Service/Warranty contract, we've found it is partially refundable, but Passport never told us this plan pro-rated. I should add, severely pro-rated. The pro-ration is apparently based on the mileage or time you've owned the vehicle under 50,000 miles, whichever is least advantageous to you. With roughly 34,000 miles on the vehicle at trade-in, and the plan completely unused, we will receive slightly over $1,800 dollars back from an initial $2,875 dollar cost. Passport is receiving over $1,000 plus interest paid on the loan, because the plan was financed, for what? As to why we purchased these two extended coverage products, we did so because both the salesman and the finance representative made a point of emphasizing how expensive BMW maintenance and repairs are to scare us into purchasing the protection. Last, we feel the Passport did a very poor job of explaining BMW's free portion of their maintenance plan, the part that covers the car up to 50,000 miles. At delivery, the representative told us oil changes/services are performed every 10,000 miles on the vehicle. That turned out to be false since we drive mainly highway miles. In our case, and with our driving habits, the vehicle system was reporting to only need maintenance every 20,000 miles. During our 34,000 miles of ownership, we had received just one oil change. Our advice to future customers of this dealership is to ask tough questions! More
I recently experienced the most satisfying and fun car buying experience ever at Passport BMW (Jan-Feb 2009). I've just purchased my very first BMW and could not be any happier with my investment. W buying experience ever at Passport BMW (Jan-Feb 2009). I've just purchased my very first BMW and could not be any happier with my investment. When I first spoke to my sales guy, Ed Han, he wasted no time in giving me the bottom-line "out-the-door" cost details of the BMW 3-series model I wanted. I was very grateful that at no time did Ed try to pressure me to buy something I did not want. I am a stickler for details and expect my salesperson to know their product as well as answer my questions adequately. Ed exceeded my challenge with a smile and lots of laughter. He always took the time to answer my questions and used layman’s terms when necessary. More importantly, Ed never got tired of explaining my choices of options and always offered suggestions when and where appropriate. I really believe Ed wanted to ensure I made the best informed decisions. Based on the all options I selected (fully loaded), it became very clear to us both the car I wanted would have to be ordered from the factory. After we did all the paperwork to begin the process of purchasing my new car, Ed took the time to set me up with a BMW online account. The fun part of this whole experience was tracking my car online while it was being built. However, the very best part was the very short length of time it took my car to be built from start to finish to delivery (4-weeks and 4 days), after being advised by another Dealership it would take 12 weeks. When I buy my next BMW, I will definitely be contacting Ed Han and Passport BMW to handle the sale. Thanks! Denise More
A coworker suggested this service center to me after I had a bad experience with the service center in Annapolis. I called in for an appointment and they took me in the next day (When I called the service center in Annapolis, they weren't available for a month!) Everyone was friendly, they have a great lounge area and cafe. It was clean, bathrooms were nice, two TVs and 3 computers in the lounge room. I waited for two hours for just routine maintenance, but it was well worth the wait. When I got to my car, the seat protector they use was taken out and my car had been washed. (Although, not as good as my carwash, but good enough to notice it had been cleaned.) I was sure to walk around the car before driving off to make sure they're weren't any dents/scratches (a lesson I learned from the Annapolis one). All in all, I was really impressed with my service at Passport BMW. :) More

Once I communicated to Mr Shah that I had made my decision (via phone) on a different BMW at another location, I was harassed and this is unacceptable. I bought a 335i convertible. The price was negotiated through USAA, it should have been a quick experience, I already had the price negotiated, I already had financing approved. It took one hour and 45 through USAA, it should have been a quick experience, I already had the price negotiated, I already had financing approved. It took one hour and 45 minutes to get a price for my 2006 Lexus SC trade in. It has taken me six weeks to get the second key, and they the wrong key was delivered. The customer service and attention to detail at this dealership is missing. It it the one thing that you expect from a high end luxury dealership. I would not recommend them. More
