Never again!!! Awful customer experience. I will never return. We took our minivan in to have a part for a recall installed. It was supposed to take most of the day. Awful customer experience. I will never return. We took our minivan in to have a part for a recall installed. It was supposed to take most of the day. This is a big deal for us as we have 3 kids and need to arrange dropping our car off and picking it up with all in school / activities (nevermind getting them around). We spent a lot of time on the phone that morning confirming that they had the part. Since we needed an oil change anyway, we decided to just get it done while there despite being more expensive than other alternatives. Got a call probably maybe 3 hrs later where they left a message to call them back. No information beyond that. I called back and it went to a vm (no one else answeredthe phone). Left a message. Got a call from the rep an hr or two later where I was told that they didnt have the part and we would need to bring it back for another day in 3 days. Obviously, they never should have had us come in, should have turned us away immediately, or should have called a lot earlier. Any of those would have been ok. Had they told me earlier, i could have easily picked it up with less difficulty but they didnt. Rep tried to suggest it was toyotas fault as they changed how you get the part. When I mentioned the dealership confirmed they had the part when we made the appt, he said "that wasnt me!" Not that that matters. Regardless, i pointed out that he was the guy who checked us in and knew what work was being done, he said "I dont work in the parts department!" I tild him to not change the oil, and that we would bring it elsewhere. He said they already did it. I said you shouldn't have done work until you talked to me given the change (recall we only changed the oil there because they were doing the other work). He said "Hey, I called you earlier. You didn't answer." I said "I called you back and you didnt answer" to which he replied "I was at lunch. That is my right!" Apparently, he is entitled to be busy, but I am not. Would have been nice if they left a message, had someone else fielding calls, or waited until they talked to me. An oil change takes all of 10 minutes if that? He was rude and obnoxious. They ultimately offered a rental for when I came back (note: they did not offer anything initially despite having my car for a day and overcharging for an oil change) which doesnt help me out and is not compensation for their ineptiude that day, aggravation from awful customer service, or lost time. It is just to make trying to make it slightly easier for when i go back and they fix their mistake. Not enough. Not even close. I could have gone elsewhere for half the price for an oil change and not losing my car for a day. We will never buy a car from there again or go back for service. Just horrific experiences. I will gladly pay more for better service elsewhere, but in this case, I will get to pay less and get better service elsewhere. Oh yeah and they promised to wash and vaccuum our car whrn we dropped it off / made the appointment but they didn't. Seems like not fulfilling promises is part of their thing these days. More
