A fee is a fee which would be the same no matter who I am or where I live. It isn't a tax issue; dealers who charge these bogus fees can answer plainly, as other dealerships did when I asked them . I guess they were too embarrassed by the amount to mention it without a way to nag at me after they gave the answer. No problem in the end - - - we simply bought a luxury Ford from another dealer. Our salesman, Evan Orr, was very laid back and easy going. He only showed us vehicles that matched our “want” criteria and didn’t waste our time with others. He was not pushy at all.
