The first contact with made with the dealership when the vehicle appeared online was decent, and not swindling us in any way. That's how we met Tim. Tim Sechrest was just amazing to work with. He understood that we were a young family on a budget, and didn't push us to look at other vehicles unless we were interested. He was accommodating to our work schedules to go on a test drive, and thoroughly knew the history and ins and outs of the CR-V. (Please note that is was a far cry from our last car buying experience, where the sales folks knew nothing about the vehicles, and also tried to sell us a vehicle that had previously been in a flood.) Tim is genuine, and honest with folks. He made this process so simple for us. He even asked the shop to patch a small scratch on the hatch door for us, and we know that most folks won't have even bothered with that. For our next vehicle, we will definitely be contacting Tim. Please know that he is a valuable asset to your team. Thanks for reading this review. More

If you gain anything from what I can say here, it should be that you need to at minimum try another Acura dealership in the area before you come to McDavid in Plano, TX. We purchased a new $43K MDX in Dec 2013 and I remember having 2nd thoughts at the time of signing but I figured it was due to the commitment of it all. In hindsight I should have walked away and made the drive to another dealership in the metroplex. Here's the sum of what you can expect to go thru once you've drove your new car off the lot: 1) Service reps - Like to play the game of "you're asking too much" each and every time you try to get a rattle/pop/click noise fixed in the car. Is it too much to ask to have my MDX less noisy than my 14yo Toyota truck? My 2014 MDX has turned out to be an awful example of a Honda product, and I'm made to feel guilty each time that I bring it in for someone to fix another issue that's suffered infant mortality (seat frame, shocks, suspension, steering column, brake clatter, software that fixes shifting issues, etc). 2) I took the MDX in 3mos ago for ding repairs, and while in the shop a technician thought he found one of the rattles that I've been complaining about (I've described the rattle as emanating from the left rear of the car), but he decided to perform an update on the right middle row seat. Well after getting the car back it now had a loud spring noise coming from the right middl-row seat. I take it back this week and DC is my newly assigned service rep. DC tells me that they found the reason for the noise - an $1100 seat rail (really?!?) I have an extended warranty so DC turns it into the warranty company but the warranty company requires an inspection before they'll pay for it. The warranty company rep is called out to inspect it and rejects the repair. So DC calls me and tells me that the $1100 issue is no longer an issue. Why? because the repair request was rejected by the extended warranty company! I ask DC the obvious question - if it was an $1100 problem when you requested the repair, then why is out now not a problem??? No response from DC. At this point I'm trying to pick up my car and DC wants me to sign the paperwork. Upon reading the paperwork I find a note that says the repair was "rejected by the customer". I refuse to sign and told DC to update the paperwork to read that the repair was refused by the warranty company. At that point DC gets mad but does the update for me. Geez - I paid good money for an extended warranty when I bought this thing and this is what I get. Hmmm...dealer says this part is faulty and the warranty company says they won't fix it. I got the car back and I now wonder what the heck happened because the requested repair wasn't repaired. I'm so glad I spent the money on that warranty... 3) The prior example of being harassed by the service dept employees is just the beginning of what McDavid makes you go through for most complaints when you bring your car in. If it an obvious failure (i.e. a door fell off) you won't have an issue. But if it's ANYTHING that cannot be visually seen then you must go on a test drive and prove it by reproducing the issue. If the issue cannot be reproduced on that test drive then they most likely will not take your car in. It's a total uphill battle with this team of service reps to get anything looked at that can't be reproduced. Think of the last time you called your service provider (internet/phone/etc) and tried to get some satisfaction for an issue you've experienced. This is as close as I can describe the frustration of working with McDavid. I've taken my car to Goodson Acura and had much more cordial service reps. It's a long drive to Goodson so every now and then I go back to McDavid thinking it has to be better - and it's not I realize that my MDX is full of issues and so I don't try to pin that on the dealership. But they are responsible to fix the issues and I'd expect better service from them than what this dealership gives. I'm just trying to do what I can to provide a post-sales experience to others so that they can make a better decision on where to spend their had earned money than what we did. Don't buy from McDavid. More

Went in looking for a specific used car we had found on line. My husband had talked to Tim on the phone and he met us immediately upon our arrival. We purchased the car, but one of the key fobs didn't work. Tim arranged for us to come back a couple of days later when the "key guy" was there and it was fixed within a matter of minutes. Overall, very pleasant experience with no sales pressure. Would highly recommend this dealership and Tim!! More
