I live in SW VA. and was in the market for a used VW Tiguan. Couldn't find one in SW VA. nor NE TN. I searched the internet and found VW of Hickory. They had just what I was looking for, a 2010 VW Tigua Tiguan. Couldn't find one in SW VA. nor NE TN. I searched the internet and found VW of Hickory. I contacted Paramount VW the morning of Friday July 6th and within a few minutes I was contacted by Josh Williams. I described my trade in. After a few emails with photos of my trades and just a few hours later we made a no haggle deal. So easy and no pressure. Josh advised that he would have the vehicle delivered to me at no cost and pickup my trades. I was contacted by Josh on Monday July 9th and they were ready to make delivery. The VW Tiguan was delivered Monday afternoon and my trades were picked up by the two drivers. It couldn't have been any smoother. When I decided to look for a new car after 11 years and 190,000 miles on my current, trusted car, I needed good information, a good driving experience and a dealer to help me reach my goal of buying another great car for the next 10 years. I made a list of the 9 best fuel consumption cars, then test drove them at different dealers. I even drove the same model car at different dealerships to find the best deal and a dealership that I trusted to return to for maintenance and service. The test drives were the easier part of this process and the “best car” for me defined itself. I easily chose the VW Jetta TDI, 6 speed manual transmission. The dealer experience was less fun, actually better defined as dreadful: Pressure, way too many sales people coming into the “sale” to add more pressure; Haggling that was irritating at best and insinuated that I am a very unsavvy buyer; A touch of chauvinism as I am a female buyer; Sales people that don’t know basics about their products. Until I went to Paramount VW in Hickory, NC. As a woman, I sensed a peacefulness just walking into the Paramount dealership. I met my salesman, Josh, and explained my “search” process to him, as I did with every salesman I encountered. He was friendly and respectful. The test drive experience was defining on my decision to buy a Jetta TDI. Josh knew his cars and he was tuned in to my “wants” in a car and driving experience. We returned to the showroom and quickly talked price. Josh introduced me to his manager and within a few moments, I was presented with a price for the car! No pressure, no haggling! It was the best sales experience and the best price I encountered. I told Josh I would return the next day with my husband, which I did, and found the price even better. I bought the car and went home a very happy customer. I agreed on the payment terms and the car was hand delivered to me at my work! No delivery charges anything. The service I recieved was the best automotive experience I have ever had. I went to Volvo and scoped out the two models I had in mind, making sure they fit my requirements (elder parent can ingress/egress easily, passenger seats fold completely down to allow hauling handbells and associated paraphenalia, and some form of better gas mileage). Saftey concerns were already addressed in my on-line research. I was not hassled with phone calls or e-mails after my visit. Later, when it became necessary to sell back an older model car (12 yrs old w/26,000 miles), we investigated Carmax...bummer of an offer. I then suggested that we should check out Paramount Volvo to see what they would offer. It turns out that Raymond and Joel suggested a deal that could not be refused. No push, no shoving, no hard sell...just options. My elder parent worked as a cost analyst...so you know the rest of the story. More
