After hours of research on the internet, we drove over fifty miles to Kia of Hickory to purchase our second Kia Sorento. Having successfully driven a Sorento for eight years and 126,000 miles, we did not fifty miles to Kia of Hickory to purchase our second Kia Sorento. Having successfully driven a Sorento for eight years and 126,000 miles, we did not have to be sold on the brand or model. However the particular features that we wanted on a 2012 model were not easy to find at this time; thus the trip to Hickory. The very nice salesman I had spoken with prior to our visit was unavailable when we arrived due to a family emergency, but Phillip Buckbee, a very pleasant fellow, took over. He could not have been more helpful. He even took us on a test drive of the Kia Soul just for fun. Although they had three cars with the features we wanted, the colors were much too dark for our dusty roads. They then agreed to bring a car in for us from another dealer in NC. After some consideration, they, in turn, offered to sell us a 2013 model at the same fair price we had negotiated, and thus avoid the hassle of getting a car from a distant dealer. We agreed, but had to go home to arrange our finances to purchase the car with a good sized down payment. Two days later we returned to pick up our beautiful pearly white SUV with black trim which offered the fuel economy and convenience package that was important to us. To prevent my getting lost in town, Phillip even drove me to a local bank to secure a cashier's check. Before we headed for home, he explained and helped us set up the new technology on the 2013. We loved our 2004, but I think we will love this one even more. If you visit Kia of Hickory, I can assure you that Phillip Buckbee will treat you with respect and make buying a car a pleasure. More
I stopped by the delaership for an oil change in my Sportage and was looking at the new vehicles. I purchased a 2012 Kia Optima and walking into the dealership not knowing exactly what I wanted in a car changed my mind when I drove the Optima. He was friendly and get you out of there fast as possible. Works hard to find you a good finance deal. Gives you all the information you needed to know.. Speaking with Phillip before we came into the dealership he was very helpful. When we met him at the dealership he was very friendly new what we wanted. Worked with Mike on my purchase he was new to sales. Even though he was new he was Really good at following up and making sure to take care of all my questions, concerns that I had. Only thing that I didn't like was the was the finance person can remember his name (young guy)that finished my paper work, He was NOT friendly no introduction or eye contact basically he acted like he was pissed ( maybe he couldn't sell extended warranty). He needs to be in wash bay dept or working for DMV, he not a person that I would consider working with the public. More
