After reading through the less than enthusiastic reviews of Paragon Honda, I felt compelled to add my review of the routine service appointment with their Service Dept. My experience was clearly atypical to of Paragon Honda, I felt compelled to add my review of the routine service appointment with their Service Dept. My experience was clearly atypical to the experiences shared by others here, yet it was surprisingly friction free, and painless:

I made an appointment for the mandatory NYS Inspection, a procedure that repeats itself every year, and is inexpensive yet time-consuming.

I telephoned Paragon's Service Dept (same number as Sales, 7185075000, follow the prompts for service) and was promptly connected to one of Paragon's Service Reps. The Rep took my information and asked for my availability after which we found a suitable date for the appointment. I work late, so I specified a late hour arrival, 5pm. It was important that the dealer acknowledged that they were able to inspect my car so close to closing time (I think they close around 6:30pm on weekdays).

The Rep politely explained that an inspection could take a 'long time' to complete, and that I should be 'prepared' to spend a few hours waiting. That was reasonable and therefore expected.

On the appointed date and time, I pulled into Paragon's Service area, following the instructions from one of their lot attendants. The area seemed very busy. Uniformed mechanics worked on dozens of cars, and Service Reps (they call them Service Writers, because they 'write up' repair tickets for customers) were talking to arriving customers.

Immediately, I was approached by one of the writers who addressed me by my name. Pleasantly surprised, I thought they must have checked the appointment logs and were waiting for me to arrive.

The inspection went without any problems, as I have a fairly new car, which I bought courtesy of Paragon Honda a few years back, and which I hope to keep for a few more inspection periods.

After the new inspection sticker was attached to the windshield, and the forms signed, the Service Reps recommended an oil change and a tire rotation. Once again, I was surprised, as I was prepared for a long list of 'necessary repairs'. I declined and moved on to the part which contained no surprises:

The bill. It was exactly what I expected it to be. No additional charges, no 'miscellaneous dealer' fees.

It was after 7pm when I pulled out of the service area. The heavy motorized chains were lowering the massive gates of Paragon's Service Dept behind me.

Turns out, I was the last and a very late customer of the day, yet Paragon kept their entire Service Department open so that the mechanics could finish my inspection.

Customer Service in my book.

More

Dealing with Paragon Honda is a plain out nightmare. Terrible service. In one case my husband waited in a long line of cars for service one morning; was mysteriously directed into an empty building no Terrible service. In one case my husband waited in a long line of cars for service one morning; was mysteriously directed into an empty building no other cars were directed to; when he asked the person who directed him if he was sure this was where he was supposed to wait, the man said yes; some time later another employee drives a car in and asks my husband what he's doing in there. Duh. So now, guess what, my husband has to go to the BACK of the LINE and start over; when he gets to the front, sorry, no more cars accepted today.

This was our second experience; we went back against our better judgement (first experience a real nightmare) because they're the only dealer near us.

We'll go ANYWHERE for service but this place in the future. I have read over 2 dozens of complaints in the BBB.org about Paragon Honda before. Considering the sales volume they are dealing with, we decided to give it a shot anyway. We are particular looking for about Paragon Honda before. Considering the sales volume they are dealing with, we decided to give it a shot anyway. We are particular looking for a fairly new used car (year 2002). With a lot of research beforehand, we are pretty much the type of educated customers that nobody can hard sell anything to us, even it means that we have to visit many dealers and/or wait for their inventory update. We have visited Paragon Honda 3 times (in the meantime, we’ve visited many other dealers as well). The first two times was bad but typical, e.g. "You must be misunderstanding, I said I can give you the price for that older car. My manager would not let me give you this price to this 2002". So we try to deal with a different sale person every time (thinking it may be just one bad apple). However, the very last experience upset me enough that I would put my effort to share it. We are in the certified used car department, trying to work out some numbers for one particular 2002 car with Tyrone Laws. In the meantime, the sales Nelson that show us the car, walked to the back office (manager office?) then told us they ARE running a carfax report for us (note: according to Honda.com policy, customer can requested CARFAX from dealer free of charge for any Honda certified car). A minute later, Tyrone came out from the back office, told us they are NOT running the carfax report because the computer was broken. At this point, we are question why Nelson specifically walked back and checked about the CARFAX status, would lie to us about it. Are they trying to team up to play some game? All of a sudden, a third sale person whom sat behind us, (which we were NOT dealing with him AT ALL), shouting out, "WHY DON'T YOU TWO JUST LEAVE NOW, NEVER COME BACK AGAIN". My boyfriend requested his name politely, in the exact word, "Who is speaking over there?" "What is your name?" For some odd reason he would NOT state his name, neither Tyrone nor Nelson in the same office say a thing. This time I asked him about his name, and he replied rudely, "I AM NOT SPEAKING TO YOU" Well, he was sitting on "Randy Cabreja" 's desk (maybe he is Randy but does not have guts to admit it; maybe he is not, but it seems that Tyrone and Nelson wanted to support their worker's act as a team. I guess it means this is the culture and manner PARAGON HONDA is represented how the potential customers to be treated. Whenever a customer question about their honesty, they would just tell the customer to leave. One last tip, when you are requesting to speak to a higher manager, don't think you are speaking to a person with the final saying because apparently they have many managers in a department to cover up for each other. There is always ANOTHER manager have ANOTHER *final saying* to override what the *previous* manager told you. I would agree with the number of complaints in the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org) about Paragon Honda. As soon as they learned you are 'too educated', they treated you like crab because they know they cannot earn a good commission or take advantage of you by convincing you to sign papers that you might not have normally signed, if you really knew what kind of business practice you're dealing with.
I have called american HONDA today at ( 1-800-999-1009 ) to lodge a complaint against these and others like these people. I've never experienced worse customer service in my life!! The sales people and manager were extremely rude! They must have lied about their warranties 100 times within a span of two hours. The peop life!! The sales people and manager were extremely rude! They must have lied about their warranties 100 times within a span of two hours. The people at Paragon are rude, nasty, unethical people who are clueless when it comes to customer service and how it affects business. I have a law suit pending with them. The first time I spoke to my attorney regarding my situation I learned that Paragon Honda is NOTORIOUS for poor customer service and unethical practices.
Paragon Honda purchased an auto insurance policy (for a vehicle I said I didn't want) behind my back!!!! They processed paperwork to finance this vehicle WITHOUT MY CONSENT!!! FRAUD!! They lied to the bank after processing the bogus paperwork and said I had driven the car off the lot. When I contacted the bank about this matter is when I learned that they had purchased an auto insurance policy. These people are unethical sick CROOKS!! Now I have to waste my time and energy in court proving that I've been FRAUDED! I NEVER SIGNED PAPERWORK, NEVER PURCHASED INSURACNCE, and I NEVER DROVE THE CAR OFF THE LOT!!!!
STEER CLEAR of Paragon Honda and spread the word!! More
