I was in ther market for a 2007 certified used Honda Odyssey. I live in an area of New York (Finger Lakes region) where there is very limited inventory of used cars, so they tend to be expensive. So I went to www.cars.com and came up with a list of 2007 EX-Ls with less that 30,000 miles, ranked price lower to higher and decided to look at the chapest ones first. Based on the list price Apple honda was the cheapest, but when you look at the details of their price, then want to add over $2,000 in fees (what a scam). I also saw Route 22 Honda and they had a cars that looked to be at a good price (~$21K), but the fine print said something about Loyalty and Recent College graduate discount. I called ahead and spoke to a sales agent who confirmed that the price DID NOT reflect any discounts, so I drove 4 hours to the dealership. When I arrived the car was in pretty shabby condition (stained carpets, etc.) and when I started to talk price the manager said that the sales person had made a mistake over the phone. The price was $23K, and I did not qualify for a $1,500 owener loyalty discount (as I had not bought a car from them in the last 6 months) or the $500 recent college grad discount (for a Minivan?) that they had included in the list price. I was very upset and left. Shame on Apple Honda and Route 22 Honda for their deceptive practices. I wish Honda USA would crack down on them for this. I looked at my list again and called Paragon Honda. They had a minivan for a bit less than $21K, so I called them and they assured me they did not have any gimmicks on the price. When I arrived and looked the car over it was in very decent shape. They did not budge on the price as they felt it was low enough (and I agree it was a very good price). They did not add any other fees either, although I felt the trade-in value that I got was kind of low. At this point I was in a real hurry to leave because I had to do additional errands and drive back home another 4 hours, so they did the best they could to get the car ready in time. I came in to the dealership around 12:00 and left around 5:00. The sales person I dealt with was Sayeed and his manager was Joe. I had a very good expereince with both and I felt they treated me very fairly. The one thing I will say is that the dealership is very busy, so everyone there is very rushed. Be prepared for that. Having said this, if and when I am in the market for a new or used Honda they will be my 1st choice because they delivered on their promises. Period. If they had not fdollowed through my trip would have been a complete waste of time. But if possible next time I would try to sell my used car on my own to get a bit more money. this is the second car we bought from Melvin and the third from Paragon. They are very professional and friendly and the service department is great. This Honda Dealer is a breath of fresh air....if you ever had a bad experiance at service department,,,you haven't been here. I felt like the people there are very helpful and honest ...something that I feel most dealership's lack. While you wait for your vehicle...sit and watch tv..or drink some fresh coffee....or so like i do, surf the web on one of 6 computers free to use. Like I said...great experience , I drive in from yonkers and pay a toll....and i't worth it. I am so glad that I learned about this place when I worked in Long Island City....It's like Dunkin dounuts....ITS WORTH THE TRIP 5 star dealer don't change anything guys More
I visited Honda Paragon to buy two cars I was shocked with the great professionalism that is going on at that dealership. Both managers form Honda MIKE ADOVIC AND JOE are the best. They made sure my visit was as pleasant as possible and as fast as I could be. My sales person was JUAN C. that did a great job on explaining the vehicles to me so I understood everything about both cars. I was shocked that the owner took interest in my cars and even he came and make sure I was happy with my two cars. BRIAN BENSTOCK who is the owner made sure everything was nice and made sure my pregnant wife was ok and had everything while I was getting the deals. I got the best prices possible and I am really happy with the service the whole team provided me with. The delivery service they have in great. At the when I bought my vehicles the was a lady from Acura her name was Wendy that explained the whole car to me with all of the great options and in Honda Rachael explained the 2010 Honda Civic. The facility is complimented by its manager Anthony Petito. Mr. Petito is experienced, professional and trustworthy. He will always provide an honest evaluation of any required service and will treat you respectfully. As a customer, I have always been made to feel like a part of the extended Paragon family. The service is outstanding, from the very first maintenance check up (many years ago) to repairing a front splash guard shield (last week) and everything in between. The courteous staff always takes the time and effort to explain everything, relating to the work on your vehicle. Wilson, Eddie and all the staff do a great job. For exceptional quality and reliable service, trust your car to Paragon. Mr. Petito has proven to be a valuable asset to the company and is the reason that I service my cars at Paragon. More
My wife and I had purchased a certified CRV from Paragon and received very good service 3 years before. Recently we experienced a problem starting the car which was eventually found to be a bad battery. I c and received very good service 3 years before. Recently we experienced a problem starting the car which was eventually found to be a bad battery. I contacted a local (2 miles away) Honda dealership but was treated unprofessionally and even rudely by their telephone customer assistance staff. So I contacted Paragon (15 miles away, city traffic) left a message for Clive the Sales Manager to please call back. The telephone customer service staff also put me in contact with Eddy in the Service Department. I explained what happened with the other dealership and said I absolutely needed the car running asap for use over the next few days. He apologized for any problems with the other dealership(!) and asked when I could bring it in. It was at the end of the day so we made an appointment the next morning. Clive called me back several hours later and said he would do whatever he could to smooth the repair process. I was unable to get there at opening but arrived by 9:30 AM. I told Angel (Service Department) and Eddie the problem and said I wanted to wait for the car. They said they had a rush of cars come in that morning but would do everything possible to have the car ready that day. I told them I would wait until closing that evening if necessary (I really needed a working car). I got a quick breakfast. To return Clive's courtesy I went to his office and while chatting with him, Eddie call to update me on progress and said the car would be ready within 30 minutes or so (only an hour or so had passed) He explained about the battery and said they wanted to test drive and check the car a bit more to make sure there were no other issues. Clive also stopped Anthony Petito (Service Manager) and explained the problem. Anthony drove me back to the Service Department and after talking with Eddie reassured me that car would be out very shortly. The car was out very shortly. I gave a rating of great for customer service, friendliness and quality of work because they made my problem (including time) their problem. They followed up on a very timely basis; got me in and out quickly for an easy fix problem so they juggled their schedule a bit for me (they had a lot of work - I saw the parking lot) - they were flexible. Their managers let their staff do theirs jobs but followed up with me later to see if I had any questions. This led to a great overall experience rating. Price was great - they charged me for the battery but did not tag on unnecessary diagnostic or other charges. I recommend Paragon Honda very highly and will go out of my way to use their services. All my experiences at the Paragon Honda Dealer have been incredible especially at the service department. Once I get there Mr. Anthony Petito takes care of me immediately. There are top mechanics at Paragon Honda in Queens off Northern Boulevard- highest levels of certification in the country- the very top one actually takes service manuals home to peruse as light reading Northern Boulevard- highest levels of certification in the country- the very top one actually takes service manuals home to peruse as light reading- but the BIG KEY REASON for the quality - the very high quality of service there- is the long time service manager- whom customers AND staff, which is remarkable really, GENUINELY love at this relocated and expanded and upgraded Honda Service Center- ANTHONY PETITO. Anthony has the total respect of all the service guys at the desks and every single one of the mechanics in the bay area- you can visibly watch it as he is in that area a lot and and you see how the men talk to him. Why? Because he's a good guy, strong, smart, knows cars in and out and a superb handler of people, very human. Maybe a missing element in a high tech world, which he is part of, too, of course. A very human human being. You couldn't ask for more in a person than this man who has been at Paragon a number of years, took over from another gentleman, Mr Weiss. Anthony just takes care of everyone in the smartest and nicest possible way. All the staff in this area just enjoy being around him... a HUGE asset to the Paragon dealership and everyone from Mr. Benstock down knows that. He's a real gem. I even like visiting there (who really wants to get service? it's like going to the doctor without insurance) to see and say hello to Anthony.
