Problems with tire, license plate, vehicle cleanliness I purchased a CPO CRV in October and was very disappointed with a couple parts of my experience. When browsing at Paragon, I started up the car that I would eventually purchase and one of the dashboard lights came on. The sales associate told me that it indicated low tire pressure; he said it was caused by the cold weather and that it would turn off on its own once it was driven a bit. I took his word, but the dash light was still on after I drove it home. One of the tires looked a a little low, so I refilled it and figured it'd be fine. A week later, the low-pressure light came back on, so I took it back to Paragon to get checked. After waiting for an hour and half, they found that the tire had a slow leak caused by a nail. Since the tire had been low when it was sitting in the dealer's lot, I'd bet the nail was in the tire before I even bought it. Anyway, they told me they couldn't fix it that night and that I should bring it back first thing the next day for a quick repair. I brought it back the next morning and waited 3.5 hours to get the nail removed. A week later, the dashboard light came back on because the same tire was low again. I took it to a local mechanic and they said the tire was plugged poorly and the plug was leaking. My local mechanic not only fixed the plug, they also patched the tire (which is what should have been done by Paragon). And this is all on a CPO car that should have had a NEW tire when I bought it. Instead, I got a tire that probably had a nail in it to start, wasted over 5 hours at the dealership, and had to pay to get it correctly fixed elsewhere. On top of this, my front license plate was incorrectly mounted by the dealership. It fell off and was lost at some point during my first trip on the highway. After I bought replacement parts, it was obvious that the holes in the bumper were stripped (probably from removing the old owner's plate) and the tapping screws wouldn't hold. This is something that would have taken just a little bit of care to do properly and resulted in an enormous headache on my part to get resolved. When I contacted Paragon about the process for getting it replaced, they gave me information that differed from the DMV website and offered no help in obtaining or installing a replacement license plate mount. I was also surprised with the condition of the car when I got it -- the dirty paper floor mats had been crumpled up and stuck above the sun visors and the ceiling of the vehicle was way dirty (despite having requested that it be cleaned). Overall, I was very unhappy with my experience at Paragon Honda. I certainly wouldn't recommend it to a friend or family member and will definitely be shopping at another dealership for my next car purchase. I *will* say that everyone I dealt with at Paragon was friendly, but that doesn't come close to compensating for the poor quality of the service I received. More
Not so great customer service Bought a certified pre-owned Accord in early Dec. From my own research, the price they gave will be considered fair. I will comment on the car and the Bought a certified pre-owned Accord in early Dec. From my own research, the price they gave will be considered fair. I will comment on the car and the purchase experience/customer service. As far as the car is concerned, I'm largely satisfied with what I got. A few things though: 1) I'm glad they bother to fill up the tank on the delivery (asked me to do it myself by handing me a voucher; I don't have a problem with that). The gas station I was asked to go was Citgo which is not part of Top Tier Detergent Gasoline. Honda very highly recommends it, so why does this self-proclaimed top Honda dealer in the U.S. not listen to Honda? 2) They installed the number plates but put screws only in the top of the plate leaving the bottom screw-less. Two more screws won't make Paragon all the more poor. 3) I didn't test-run the wipers. Turns out they don't wipe clean! The 182-point Honda inspection specifically says "Must wipe clean" for the wiper blade inspection and guess what? It was checked "Yes". I had to order new wiper blades myself and replaced them recently. Paragon can claim the wiper blades were fine when they delivered but if they deteriorate that much in less than a month, nobody would any Honda parts. I called Paragon but the customer rep just told me to replace them myself. What worries me is that if the inspector checked it yes while clearly they don't wipe clean, what else did he/she check yes w/o even checking? That would violate Honda requirement, wouldn't it? Regarding the customer service, I didn't think it was great. Maybe I haven't been to enough car dealers to appreciate Paragon more? But I saw nothing spectacular about the customer service. I'm not saying it was bad, but it was just okay and met the minimum expectation of a car dealership. 1) For some reason, I felt like the sales rep didn't want to talk to me. Maybe he was just a man of few words (which would be curious for the career). He did answer me when I asked questions, but I felt increasingly uneasy asking more questions 'cos I felt like he was getting annoyed by questions. Also, not that I was craving for coffee, but I could have used a cup while shopping. 2) While I was looking at the car, I noticed the key fob had a low battery. The dashboard is showing Low Batt. I notified the sales rep and he assured it would be replaced before I came to pick it up. But it was not. And I was asked to come back another day. I didn't understand why I had to come back day for something as simple as replacing a CR2032 battery; I didn't get any explanation why either. It looks like their service department closes by 4pm and I picked up the car around 6pm. So I came back another day. I was asked to show him proof that there is indeed the Low Batt warning on the dashboard. Thank god I didn't come by subway that day. Why would I lie about this low battery thing? I didn't feel very good about being treated that way. Replaced the battery, he did, after I waited for half hour on a weekday during my office hour while a bunch of their staff were hanging around apparently not busy. Couldn't any of them be told what should be done to help a customer of Paragon? Why did it have to be this specific sales rep only? Especially when this is a fairly easy and simple thing to do. For their part, Paragon did do well with the DMV paperworks! I received all the documents in due time and they even bothered to send me a refund check for the DMV fees they collected in excess of what it actually cost them. Overall, I'm giving them a 4 stars 'cos apart from the customer service and the wiper blades which caused me annoyance, I didn't encounter definite downers at this dealership. Would I wholeheartedly recommend this? I would say do pay a visit to this dealer but not exclusively. More

I regret doing so, what a waste of time. I knew exactly what cars I came to see, knewexactly hoiw much I wanted to spend and mind you, I was already approved through my credit union. The young, inexperience young man I dealt with was a joke, did not comprehend well and despite what I asked, ge did the total opposite. His co-worker observed his inexperienced behavior and they conspired to let his co-worker chime in and try to fast talk me into a sale. Then the manager found out that they let a certified buyer leave without sealing the deal. The dum manager sends me via email a purchase agreement without any signatures from buyer or seller. The credit union needed the signed purchase agreement in order to process and release the check to pay for car. I didn't even bother to respond to the manager as the instructions and paperwork needed from credit union, i sent to him, which was crystal clear and detailed. Either they couldn't read or just didn't bother to read the material, either way, it was a tragedy! More
Horrible customer service I went to buy a car. They were trying to sell me a a car that was scratched all around I told them they had to fix it for me to buy it ok. They said o I went to buy a car. They were trying to sell me a a car that was scratched all around I told them they had to fix it for me to buy it ok. They said ok, come get the car after thanksgiving. I go to pick up the car and they told me they messed up the paperwork on the title and they gave me the same exact car less miles for the same price. When I went to see it this car was also all scratched up. That's when I started to realize these people are shady. They got a bunch of you kids who are clueless. Anyways they say ok give us a few days we'll paint the car for you. That was Dec 10 , it's Christmas Eve and I still don't have the car after I was left a voicemail from service saying by Monday12-20 I call Monday and made sure I told them this car is a gift , so they tell me Tuesday. I call Tuesday they tell me weds. And Christmas Eve and I don't got the car to give to my fiancé. Between Th sales experience and service experience this is the worst place to buy a car. Stay away. I will never buy a Honda again because of this experience I will never, EVER get my car serviced at Paragon Honda again. I will never buy a Honda product again because of this experience. After my car sit I will never, EVER get my car serviced at Paragon Honda again. I will never buy a Honda product again because of this experience. After my car sits for three days in the service department with no word, and after no less than 12 calls to the service department, I finally am able to get a hold of my "service" representative through his supervisor, Chris. Nick tells me that my car will need a new starter clutch, the exact same repair that I had paid $2500 for less than 10,000 miles previous. When faced with this information, Nick and his department refused to stand by their work and propose to charge me full price for another new starter clutch installation. Unacceptable. Just last May, after less than 70,000 miles, my hybrid battery went "bad" (according to the engine codes) and had to be replaced to the tune of $3500. The warranty had expired less than one month prior. If I didn't agree to replace the hybrid battery (even though the car was running fine), Paragon would not pass the car for the NY State inspection. These guys have no integrity. Lastly "Brian Benstock," I'm sure you will reply with one of your boilerplate messages about how you'll do everything you can to fix this problem. Your service department has my phone number, feel free to give me a call. If you're serious about standing behind your service, you'll make this right. More
