I am writing you this letter to inform you about a company operating out of Pompano Beach, Florida under the name Paradise Auto Brokers, LLC that is willing and knowingly selling vehicles with inaccur company operating out of Pompano Beach, Florida under the name Paradise Auto Brokers, LLC that is willing and knowingly selling vehicles with inaccurate descriptions for the sole purpose of profit. On July 17, 2011 I sent a check for the sum of $9899.00 plus a deposit I made of $500.00 made by credit card for the purchase of a 1985 Mercedes Wagon VIN WDBAB93C5FF049160. Here is a copy of the vehicles description from the add posted on Ebay, to see a full copy of the Ebay add see Attachment A. “This is a gorgeous 1985 Mercedes Benz 300TDT Turbo Diesel Wagon with a 3rd seat and only 129,701 low Florida miles. This vehicle simply looks and runs fantastic. The dash looks awesome, the wood looks awesome, and the seats and door panels look awesome. Rarely will you see one of these older diesels in such nice shape especially the wagons as they are so hard to get. The air conditioning is cold and the cruise works great and this vehicle drives wonderful. The exterior and interior are in fabulous shape. I specialize in the older Mercedes' and I can tell you without a doubt this is a very nice one. It has just been serviced and is ready to go. If your looking for that very special car than look no further. Aside from the radio not working, everything else seems to be in great working order.” When the vehicle was delivered by an auto transport company I immediately noticed the following issues with the car (also note the number corresponds to photos in Attachment B: 1: cracked failing hydraulic house for rear suspension 2: Broken Accelerator linkage 3: Rust around jacking point 4,5,6: cracked vacuum lines causing the door locks and cruise control to work sporadically or not at all. 7: washer fluid container that leaks and filled with crude. 8: Leaking valve cover 9: cracking steering linkage---this fails you cant steer the car 10, 16: paint and tape on roof rack 11,13: runs in paint on the roof 12: over spray on door seal 14: cracked fog light that doesn't work 15: crack in paint and paint on trim In addition: -Glow system not operating -A/C not operating -drivers side passenger window skips -car badly out of alignment -hazard switch not working To prove that I was not making this up I had the car inspected at German Master Tech Bend Oregon ((541) 322-9647) an independent auto repair shop. See Attachment C for a copy of the finding from the repair shop. I offered that if they were to buy some of the needed parts totaling in the sum of $364.45 that I would install myself (saving their company on labor fees) and to pay for a local auto repair shop to fix the A/C system correctly that I could live with the vehicle. Or if they would like I would gladly accept a full refund for the purchase of the vehicle as several items were not mention in the description of the vehicle. The response I received from them is that they might be willing to offer $300.00 total if I were to write a letter stating I would not find them at fault for any further problems with the car or if I wanted to pay for shipping of the car back to their location they might try to sell it on my behalf but could not make any guarantees as to whether it would sell. I told them this was highly unacceptable and they knew what type of vehicle they knowingly misrepresented to me. I informed them that I would be launching a complaint with the BBB, Ebay and that I would creating a web page warning any future buyers of what was to be expected from this company along with photo documentation of the repairs this car needs to make it meet the description they offered in their add. In Summary I am launching a complaint against this company for the following reasons: 1. A/C is not functioning as stated in the add 2. Several items are not functioning even though it clearly states in the ad that the only thing not working correctly is the radio 3. The vehicles does not drive wonderfully and is need of some repairs before being considered safe to drive on the road. 4. Car only looks fantastic from a distance due to many unmentioned flows in the repaint of the vehicle. I appreciate your time and consideration in this matter.
