He had excellent knowledge of the various vehicles on site and answered all questions to my satisfaction. He made the buying experience very pleasurable. I drove off the lot in a brand new 2017 Mustang. Nycki Hagan has been extremely helpful for weeks after the sale. More
A bright helpful face at Palmetto Ford! Recently I purchased a new I-phone and the change resulted in all my favorite pre set contacts being deleted from my Blue Tooth system. At age 68 I am Recently I purchased a new I-phone and the change resulted in all my favorite pre set contacts being deleted from my Blue Tooth system. At age 68 I am somewhat challenged by some of these easily accomplished tasks a 12 year old can do instantly so I brought my Lincoln MKX to your dealership for help. Your showroom directed me to Kelvin Ruffin. He was not only very helpful and instructed me how to reclaim my numbers but his interaction with me changed what had previously been a very negative experience for my family with Palmetto Ford. We are winter residents in Charleston and about six years ago my previous MKX was severely damaged in the middle of the night by a drunk driver while parked outside my son's home. The vehicle was towed to your dealership for a claims adjuster to evaluate and for repair. The insurance company promptly signed off on all work and my husband had to rent al all wheel drive vehicle to return to our other home in Blowing Rock, NC as we were preparing to leave on a cruise. Three weeks later Palmetto had made no effort to begin repairs on our vehicle. We contacted the owner of Boone Food, Alfred Glover, where we had purchased several Lincolns and asked if he knew anything about Palmetto. He did not but promised to look into it and see if he could help us. His research suggested that Palmetto had one of the worst service reputations for the Ford brand on the East Coast. We asked him if he would do the work and we had our car towed the 300 miles back to his dealership where we had always enjoyed excellent service. FYI- we have shared this story with dozens of friends over the years .. not good for Palmetto. Since then we have purchased three more Lincolns from Boone Ford. One ( a 2016 MKX was for our son, Morgan Herterich, who lives here full time in Charleston and I believe has had some experience with Palmetto.) Kelvin was the first person I have interacted with since our very negative experience with your service department six years ago and based upon the excellent one we shared I would be amenable to possibly purchasing a future Lincoln from him in the future. Perhaps, he should have been overseeing your Service Department. My companies are service oriented and I understand the value to the public of positive experiences. Selling vehicles is one thing, servicing them and enjoying a positive income stream is quite another! Bravo to Kelvin for being such a valuable representative of your company. Suggest you take good care of him - or one of your competitors will... PS: I was not permitted to submit this review without completing the first two questions on this survey. The first was number of stars for service and the second was whether I would recommend your service department to a friend. Honestly, If given the option I would have been unable to complete this section as Mr. Ruffin is in your sales you department not your service one. Karyn Kennedy Herterich More
Service Department (Don Beckett)...Great Customer Service On Saturday, 3/18/17 my wife and I were traveling to Charleston from South Florida to visit our son and his wife. We broke down about 75 miles short On Saturday, 3/18/17 my wife and I were traveling to Charleston from South Florida to visit our son and his wife. We broke down about 75 miles short of Charleston (Ridgeland). Since we were heading for Charleston, we decided to get towed to Palmetto Ford. We knew nothing about Palmetto Ford other than it was close to where my son lived. I talked to a lovely lady lady on the phone named Betty. She told us what to do when we got the car there in the evening. When we got to Palmetto Ford it was late. Betty happened to be going home at that time and spotted us and came out to greet us. She identified herself as the person I had talked to earlier on the phone. She started the chain of excellent customer service. On Monday, 3/20 morning, I received a phone call as I was headed to my car from Service Manager, Don Beckett. He told me he was headed out to my vehicle to get some information. When I got there he took me right into his office and we discussed my needs for the vehicle (water pump, pulley, fan blade, and later a new radiator). I told him we were trying to leave on Tuesday, 3/21 to go back to Florida and pick up our grandkids and take them to the beach for a few days. I knew we were expecting a lot, with all the damage to our vehicle. Don called me several times to give me updates. Tuesday afternoon he called me and said to come in at 5pm. When we arrived my 2006 Ford Explorer was being taken in the back for a wash. By 5:30ish I was gone and by 6:15pm we were headed out on the road for Florida. I cannot express my thanks enough to Don Beckett, Betty, and the others that made my experience at Palmetto Ford a great one. Customer service the way it should be done....Gary & Carolyn Slade (WPB, Fl.) More
Supeerior Personnel and Great Service After a recent accident while driving from Alabama to Charleston, my car was towed to Palmetto Ford. When I arrived, the Body Shop/Service Department After a recent accident while driving from Alabama to Charleston, my car was towed to Palmetto Ford. When I arrived, the Body Shop/Service Department had already closed, so I walked up to the Sales Department to wait for a ride. The personnel there were extremely gracious and welcoming and offered us a warm dry place to wait as well as coffee and cold drinks. The next day, I contacted Jim Moody (Service Manager) who looked at our car and offered to make it drive-able so we could return home for repairs. Not only did he do that, but he personally test drove it and called to check on us to make sure we were safe and well on our trip and after our return home. I cannot say enough good things about all the folks at Palmetto and have mentioned my favorable impressions to several friends in Charleston. More

I had it towed to palmetto Ford where they diagnosed the battery being dead. They replaced the battery free of charge. On August 2, 2016 my truck did the same thing. I had it towed to palmetto ford again the same day, they were quick to say the battery was the problem again and wanted to charge me 250+ for a replacement. keep in mind if they replaced the battery again that would of been 3 batteries in the matter of approximately 3 years which is telling me something else is definitely wrong. I refused to pay the $250+ for a new battery if they had just replaced it last year. I told them they need to gather more information as to why the battery goes out every year because the typical life span for a car/truck battery is ~4 years. Tom agreed and had the techs look further into it. He called back the next day saying the battery was not the problem and they had found the computer system needed to be updated. He now wanted to charge me $160+ for just re-flashing the computer system to help the truck to remember to hold the charge or whatever. I refused to pay the $160 due to the poor diagnostics the first and second go around coupled with my extended 75,000 mile warranty i have. The customer shouldn't have to tell the tech to look further into a problem if it keeps reoccurring they have computer files for a reason to find this into out... I should of trusted what everyone else says about palmetto ford. stay away from these guys they clearly don't care about customers, its all about the sales and profit here. More

Everyone was extremely friendly despite being very busy, including a mechanic who checked me in when it clearly wasn't his job there. Dustin was my Service Manager and went beyond what I would expect anyone to do. Not having a ride to pick my car back up and the shuttle driver gone for the day (about 530pm), Dustin drove all the way to Johns Island in traffic and heavy rain to pick me up. The poor guy must have already worked a 10 - 12 hour day but didn't hesitate to offer me a ride. Great way to start off and I'm feel confident about Palmetto handling all the service on my vehicle in the future. More
Three repairs for same problem I toke my Lincoln in for A/C not cooling properly THREE times 1st time freon leak 2nd condenser 3rd fan not turning fast enough. I returned to deal ag I toke my Lincoln in for A/C not cooling properly THREE times 1st time freon leak 2nd condenser 3rd fan not turning fast enough. I returned to deal again because it still was not cooling properly. Service Manger told me I need a new car and it wasn't going to get any colder. He even brought out thermometer and pick in vents to make me believe it was cooling properly, sorry I didn't far for that old TRICK thermometers can be adjusted to read whatever you want it to, I guess I'm a xxxxxxx and didn't know that my car wasn't cooling properly. I took my vehicle to a new deal and found Palmetto was to lazy to find the real problem the evaporator because it's not easy to get. But the still charged for work that was never done. My next stop is Live 5 News and BBQ and National action network. And Lawyers this is so sad to the ripped off by a large dealership in 2015. I just got a call from Jim McMaster being very rude and trying to bully me into thinking I do something wrong, sorry that not going to happen today. He should have been calling to say sorry or is there anything I can help you with. But since my car been there three timeseparate for the same repair and you still saying it was fixed it's time for BBB and Corp to get involved. I guess the truth hurts worst CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I told him don't call me no more. Stay tuned to be continued. More
Lack of integrity and customer loyalty I've never ranted online before, but I hope I can save some unfortunate person from getting their vehicle serviced at Palmetto Ford Lincoln. In short, I've never ranted online before, but I hope I can save some unfortunate person from getting their vehicle serviced at Palmetto Ford Lincoln. In short, the general consensus of negativity on the reputation of this place have been validated. I realize that you should never seek service for your car at a dealership, but a need to get the job right persuaded my wife to take her car there. Without going into details of the THOUSANDS of dollars spent that still leave a minor issue unresolved, they clearly do not stand behind their work, and take advantage of people (evidenced by a $160 bill to re-diagnose an issue that was improperly diagnosed earlier). The latest estimate at over $1,000 is over DOUBLE the cost at ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP. A true lack of integrity and customer loyalty make this a truly awful place to have your vehicle serviced. I'm a huge advocate of Ford, their vehicles, and the service we've received at other Ford dealers, but when I read the Ford corporate values of "Customers are the focus of everything we do" and "Integrity is never compromised", I'm dumbfounded at how an organization like Palmetto Ford is allowed to bear the revered Ford logo. Do yourself a favor if you need dealer-service, goto Jones Ford of Charleston. More
