After some simple paperwork, which was also done in the most efficient and professional manor, I was on my way in my new SUV. My wife and I have been doing business with Palmetto Ford for over 20 years. We started when the dealership was located on Morrison Drive. We have been going directly to Bill Pappas since he started with Pal for over 20 years. We started when the dealership was located on Morrison Drive. We have been going directly to Bill Pappas since he started with Palmetto Ford. Whenever our lease is up, we go directly to Bill. He smart, always professional and we honestly know that sees his job as doing his best for the customer. He does not push you in a special direction to meet some dealership goal. We know he believes that he takes care of us and our needs and wants that we will be back. It has worked for twenty years and it will continue. Our most recent experience involved the end of our lease turn-in. Our original plan was simply to buy the car that we had leased based its condition and the reliability of Ford products. After talking with Bill it became apparent that what we needed was two cars. I not sure how Bill and Mike Kalinowski made it happen but they did it. Now that's a professional team. I have recommended Bill and Palmetto Ford to my friends whenever the subject of car purchases or leases come up. Although this visit did not involve the service department, I would be remiss in not acknowledging the outstanding experience that the service department and Jean Healey have provided us over the years. I recently bought a 2014 Mustang V6 Premium. My whole experience from start to finish was enjoyable, I knew right away that I was in good, trustworthy hands. I started researching online and had a good idea of what I was looking for so decided to call Palmetto Ford, where I had bought my original Mustang in 1994. I spoke with Dan Lentz who impressed me from the get go - he was warm & friendly as well as professional, he established rapport right away & I felt that he sincerely cared abut finding me the car I wanted, it wasn't just a 'sale' - he certainly is an asset to Palmetto Ford! He spent time searching inventory throughout the South East and came up with the perfect car. Dan went the further mile giving me all the options and price differences depending on my choices, showing a lot of patience and also being prompt in emailing me all the details. The price he quoted included matching another dealership coupon plus a further cash incentive, thank you Dan! I had initially requested a woman sales person, as I wanted to support women in business, so Dan then introduced me to Molly McFadden who immediately impressed me with her friendly, warm professionalism. Molly took me for a test drive and was most helpful in pointing out all the 'bells and whistles' - the 2014 Mustang is certainly quite a car! I really enjoyed working with Molly, she was most supportive and understanding about my concern for my 1994 Mustang buddy that I was trading and assured me that she wouldn't go off to the 'chop shop!' Molly negotiated the final sale, I never felt 'pressured' in any way and I was pleased with the finalized deal which I thought was very fair, thank you Molly! At all times there was an atmosphere of helpful, friendly yet professional service. I also enjoyed working with Ron Austin who took care of all the paperwork, he too was so helpful and prompt in finalizing all the legal details. Overall I can certainly recommend Palmetto Ford, it has the sincere, friendly and trustworthy service of a family business with a high standard of professionalism. I was very impressed with Dan and Molly and Ron, their attention to detail and warm professionalism made all the difference to my experience - 5*****! Thank you all! I was contacted by the sales manager concerning the below experience. He went out of his way to rectify the situation. Thank you. Went to the dealership this evening to purchase a new escape, because the internet price was very good. The salesman was very nice and helpful, unfortunately when it came time to crunch the numbers the trade in value offered was $2500 below NADA trade in value. I expect to have to do a little negotiating when making a deal so I asked for pay off for my trade (payoff for my vehicle is $600 over NADA). I did not ask for a price reduction on the escape because the advertised price was good and I was prepared to pay the difference between the payoff amount and the NADA trade in value. He went back to the sales manager and came back with a number that $1500 below trade in value. When I pointed out that I knew what the values of my car were for trade in and retail his response was " well, our vehicle is not priced at retail". The dealership made a choice to price this vehicle below retail but then tried to make up the difference buy offering the a low amount for my trade. The difference between the trade in offer was almost exactly the difference between the retail price and the sale price of the new vehicle. Unfortunately for this dealership I had a bank draft with me and was prepared to buy the escape tonight until they made the poor decision to offer such a low amount for my car. This is the second bad experience I've had with this dealership, and the only reason I decided to try them again is because the owner rectified the issue quickly during the first bad experience. This will be the last time I attempt to do business with Palmetto Ford. More
