Very nice experience, the people at Palmen Motors still have the old time commitment to their customers that was common in the old days. We are thinking about purchasing a second vehicle and we will get it from Palmen. More

The car was in the possession of Palmen Motors for nearly two weeks before it finally left with more damage it had come in with. During this time, repairs done included a new thermostat and water pump, which is what Frank (a mechanic at your dealership) said was necessary to do and explained that this was explicitly why the car had been overheating. Other repairs pushed were new brake pads and rotors for the front of the car and a new muffler. While this was not the main concern with the car, my grandmother agreed to these repairs. She had expressed that she wanted to make sure that the car was safe to drive on the freeway as I needed to drive it back to my college which is hours away from Wisconsin. Knowing this, Frank assured my grandmother that the car would be safe to drive. He eventually called after a few days and asked to keep the car for one more day to test drive the car and make sure everything had been fixed properly. He reassured us that it would be ready the following day, so that is when we came to pick up the car. When I arrived, the car was not ready for pickup yet. I was told the car would be ready at 9am and did not have it back until after 3pm. Once we had the keys, we left the dealership. I wasn’t able to make it home before the car overheated AGAIN, nearly eight minutes away from your dealership. I immediately called your dealership again to have the car towed back as the car was no longer safe to drive. The first person I spoke to said McDevitt’s Towing would be able to tow the car, I then said I would call her right back to alert my grandmother (Rosa French) that the car was overheating as she had paid for the repairs. After I spoke to my grandmother, I called back within three minutes and someone else answered. When I caught them up with what had happened to my car, they flat out told me that Palmen cannot help with tows and that I would need to call a roadside assistance company and then asked if I would be willing to drive the car back. I responded with “Absolutely not. The previous person I spoke to assured me that Palmen would be able to assist with the tow.” I am horrified that someone asked me to risk my safety and wellbeing to drive a car that was clearly overheating back. After going back and forth for a bit, she eventually gave me the number of McDevitt’s Towing. The car was towed back to Palmen Motors and would remain in your possession for and three more days. During this second visit, I had multiple people dodging my phone calls when I was calling for an update on the car. The only time I would hear anything new is when I had to drive to the dealership and ask in person. Keep in mind, your dealership is thirty minutes away from my home which made driving back and forth for answers even more ridiculous. I made at least four visits for progress and during these visits, I was told that any possible issues causing overheating were just wild guesses. Eventually, Jay and another mechanic started talking about other ways to diagnose the issue such as cutting my radiator in half to “figure out what was going on”. I was asked about the history of my car such as repairs made in the past and what had been replaced. I told Jay that the engine had been replaced with BRAND NEW one. Not used or refurbished. The radiator was also replaced which was again, brand new. Jay eventually called the River Front Chrysler Jeep Dodge which is where these repairs had occurred and was recorded, after getting the history of the car, he told me that it extremely well taken care of. He even reaffirmed by saying “impeccable care”. This is why I was shocked that my fiancé told me someone from Palmen Motors had called him (not me or my grandmother who had paid for the repairs) and said I needed a brand-new engine in my car, which would run us about $7,300-$7,600. We declined and had the car towed to another mechanic in Racine who gave us our second opinion on the car. Upon inspecting the car, he concluded that the thermostat had been placed in the car BACKWARDS which resulted in my engine being blown. To conclude, it is clear that no one else is responsible for this damage other than Palmen. The car was in your care for two weeks. In this time had several diagnostic tests, full point inspections, and repairs were performed, none of which addressed and fixed the main issue: overheating. We paid nearly $1700 dollars for the overheating issue to be fixed, but instead, we received a ruined car back with a blown engine. Your mechanics attempted to cover their mistakes by telling us we needed a brand-new engine. This car is my only form of transportation to and from college and work and this situation far surpasses an “inconvenience”." More

Purchased a new Fiat 500L at Palmen in Sept and have been to the service dept at least 4 times already and problem still exists. Not certain the service dept is knowledgeable enough of this vehicle . I been to the service dept at least 4 times already and problem still exists. Not certain the service dept is knowledgeable enough of this vehicle . I go in each time for the same issue (check engine light) and the issue still exists but they don't say anything when I leave except that everything should be ok now and it NEvER is. I am just told your car is ready and it's outside. (They use to deliver your car inside washed and warm after service ) Wish they would contact Fiat and discuss the problem instead of just acting like they know. Need to find another more knowledgeable service dept. It's a shame that one spends that kind of money on a vehicle and can get no service satisfaction. I just always leave disappointed... I purchased my Jeep from Palmen and always had great service but I think this Fiat is not something they were prepared for... More

They give you an accurate time of when it will be ready, and then give you a call so you know for sure when to come back in. I have also waited for the car there, which worked out well too. They always check in to see if you were happy with the visit a few days later. I like that. More

I have owned/operated many Chrysler/Dodge vehicles and have had them serviced at the Palmen Motors Service on 75th Street Kenosha, and Have been completely satisfied with their service. I have been listened to, I have been called in regards to the problems they have found, I have been kept informed of the progress of each repair. It is not the service that is bad but the quality of my 2009 Town and Country that drove me to my new Dodge Grand Caravan. If I have a concern at any time all I have to do is call the Service Dept and am told to bring it in. I feel confident that the staff are knowledgeable regarding any problems that may occur. It is very seldom that one hears good things about the service, many people are eager to report bad service or problems. I on the other hand commend the Service Dept for all their help and knowledge......... Sincerely, Barbara Bonn the new owner of a beautiful 2011 Grand Caravan "Crew" More
