Sold a used lemon I bought a Toyota Rav 4 in October, 2015. I too must have sucker on my forehead. The vehicle was low miles for the year and model and was pretty clean. There was a whine coming from the transmission that I was told was a leaking exhaust and not to worry, it would make no difference in the vehicle performance. I had the SUV for three days and was out of town when I had the first problem, a flat tire on a rainy night from one of the tires with little wear and good tread. Belle tire discovered it was rotted out from the inside. Oh well, it happens. I sent the following e-mail to Mr. Page back in December with no response. "I purchased a 2007 Rav4 Limited from your dealerships used car department at the end of October. The vehicle had 74,000 miles and appeared to be in over all good condition. In the two months I have owned the vehicle I have twice been left on the side of the road broke down. I have had to replace the tires due to age, the tread was good but the inside of the tire was rotted. I of course made this discovery on a dark, rainy night coming back from a business trip to Grand Rapids. I purchased four new tires and asked for an alignment at the garage I had gone to. The vehicle could not be aligned because the rear adjustment rods did not have adjustment nuts. This was due to a past recall from what research says and was Toyota's way of fixing the adjustment from slipping. The rear coils were also shot so the camber could not be adjusted so I had to replace those as well. Yesterday my wife and I attempted to go out of town again. About 70 miles from home the engine began missing and multiple warning lights came on. Instead of a nice trip to finish Christmas shopping we nursed the SUV home and this morning took it once again to the local garage. The diagnostic states three of the ignition coils are bad. To save future labor I have opted to replace all of them. The front struts are also leaking so I had them replaced as well. The bottom line is I have had to spend $2,900 on a vehicle that I have had for two months. I am realistic and understand that maintenance is essential to performance. I also know there is an assumed risk in buying a used vehicle." I received no reply. Since that time I have had to put an additional $500.00 in maintenance to this wreck. The mechanic told me it was obvious that the vehicle had not been properly maintained to anybody who is in the car business. My advise is if you are looking for a good used car you better look somewhere else. Like others on this site I got the college kid who could not afford it story about why it was on the lot. I have no doubt the used car manager who made a bunch of promises and then disappeared was laughing in his sleeve while I pulled off the lot. More

Working with Dean was great as he was very informative without being pushy. He answered questions and was patient as we decided on a Highlander on the lot that was a step up from what we had planned to buy. The manager was willing to negotiate and met us at a price point we could accept. The experience was excellent and all of the staff we worked with including Brad Stoller in finance we friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend the dealership for buying a car. More

The perfect little car, only had 37,000 miles on it. This was why we came all that way to see it. We have a Subaru, but we're told it would need $2,000 repairs, and we went looking for a car that would take us a few years further without repairs. We paid high end of blue book for the car. The rack and pinion on the car was bad – we drove the car with an hour commute on the expressway home with no knowledge of this problem. As well as I commute 1/2 each way on the expressway. Probably would not have discovered it until the steering went out on my highway commute, or possibly while my young daughter was driving. It's a miracle we did not have a wreck! Makes me think of fatalities, it could have been on your conscience. While doing this repair, my mechanic found The catalytic converter was hanging by the flange – another big repair! The hose was pinched and leaking fluid. Needed new hose and clamps. Minor, but had it continued to leak, could have seized the engine! But all this was concealed by a good power wash to the engine prior to showing the car to a guy who was just trying to do right by his family and get a good car. Salesman Bill Orr told us this car was driven by a little old lady who was just upgrading. No pressure, he said but we sold this car already, the only reason it’s still on the lot is because the college kid didn’t have any credit to buy it. It won’t be here later on today. Also we were told we could not hire one of their mechanics to check the car out. Unfortunately, We were the family with sucker on our heads. Buyer beware. A costly lesson – to the expense of $3000, in addition to the cost of the car. And the feeling of being duped. Makes you wonder where humanity has gone. I’ll tell you this much, I will never go to Page Toyota for another car – EVER. More
