Oxmoor Toyota responded

TrulyAnnoyed- First, it is unfortunate that you did not share the experience that the majority of my customers share. I have taken your complaint very seriously and have investigated it thoroughly. I have spoken with all the people involved, read all of your reviews, and systematically dissected your issues. I have determined the true cause of your complaints and determined that your accusations are unfounded and, in certain instances malicious. It was very hard for me to believe that William Moberly acted as you said. I read ALL of the reviews online, and what is interesting is that the initial one states, “I finally agreed that the deal was good he was matching the loan rate from my bank…” yet in a subsequent review you noted that, “[my] financial institution was not honored…” and a later one “I agreed on the sale if we could finance through my bank. . ..” The bottom line is-- asking to match or beat your rate is a service to you and that is exactly what occurred here and you agreed by your own admission that matching the loan rate was OK. Second, I have asked 5 online review sites to investigate your attempts to fraudulently fabricate multi-user names and post multiple reviews. They have investigated and “the review did not meet the terms and conditions of Insider Pages and has been removed.” InsiderPages; “I have removed 1 of the reviews. You are correct that the customer cannot post 2” Dealerrater; “This review has been removed now as well.” Dealerrater. Another complaint that I investigated was your allegation concerning … “added charges (which I was told were already included. . .. )” All tax, title, lic, and fees were already included in the 14423.12 you quoted that you initially agreed to. I imagine the issue is not that they were later added in but actually disclosed as they should have been. But the negotiated price you initialed in the showroom did not change until you opted to purchase a warranty and Gap insurance. In fact, the negotiated price was lowered to accommodate your warranty and gap request. Originally $14423.12 + 1180 for gap and warranty = 15603.12 amount financed, but your actual amount financed was 15,003.12? I was also concerned when you stated we are “selling products not disclosed.” It is hard for me to believe this to be true after looking at a worksheet with your signature on it adjusting down payment, term, and prices of the products to fit your payment needs. It is simply unfeasible that you were unaware of the products based on this worksheet alone-not to mention the four additional signatures needed to accept these products. Nonetheless, you can cancel these products at no expense to you within a month of purchase. Additionally, if you are not happy financing with the lender we provided, there are no early termination penalties and you can simply go to your credit union and pay off the loan. Another complaint was that “I was not allowed to speak w/the General Manager…” Our General Mgr speaks with everyone that has a complaint. In fact, he spoke with you, but you told him you had a lawyer, at which point he must allow our lawyer to take over from that point. Later, however, you admitted you did not have a lawyer, you were just posturing. I’m a lawyer, who wants to talk with lawyers? They are generally adversarial by training and rarely do anything but cost both parties too much money. After all of this, the true heart of the issue is what you said, you found a comparable vehicle for less money. I just had a customer come in who purchased a vehicle and two days later asked to meet with me, and this is why I love my job: “Mr. Boardman, we don’t want you to think we are unhappy, we really enjoyed working with [salesperson] and yourself.” However, we found this same exact car online at [Dealership] and don’t feel like we got the best deal anymore.” I left the office and looked up the car online- it was similar but had more miles and ours had some other options, it was about $350 less. My perspective is-could I go back in there and justify the additional $350? Yes. Would I earn a customer for life if I did so? NO. Do I want to deal with this customer in the future? You bet! In the current situation, I want you to know I am not advocating that we are perfect. We make mistakes and I will take accountability for them. In this case, there were probably things we could have done better-but posting multiple fraudulent reviews claiming we prey on females and train our salespeople to lie cheat and steal are unfounded and intolerable. Additionally, when did name calling and anger ever get anyone anywhere? My grandfather always used to put me back in line by saying “Terry do you know what the sand box rules are?” Why as adults do we forget those sandbox rules and play with less humility than small children.
