Since we live in St. Louis and Chris' Louiville location is more than 250 miles away, this required a few extra steps on his part including airport shuttles, out of state licensing and lots of communication as the program Clunkers program ended. The most pleasant part of the entire journey was dealing with Chris “Wheelz” Simpson at Oxmoor Toyota. The level of professionalism he brought to the process was greatly appreciated and something that many other sales associates and dealers should strive to emulate. From the initial contact, subsequent phone calls and emails, to the final day we met to complete the transaction, Chris performed in a professional, honest and enthusiastic manner that made the car buying process enjoyable again. On top of these characteristics he delivered the best price with no games or tricks. It was well worth the 3 hour drive from Nashville. Upon arrival to pick up our new Highlander, the Oxmoor family went to great lengths to insure a pleasurable experience for me and my family. They had the grill fired up and were serving lunch to customers. The game room with Wii and Xbox was an immediate hit with my son. Despite the large number of customers there, everyone worked to insure our comfort, complete the process in a professional manner and let us know that they valued our business. Chris continued the positive experience from our earlier contacts but we were equally impressed with the service received from Ron Doak, Finance Manager. Terry Boardman, Operations Director, and John Barrer, General Manager, also took time during our visit to insure that all of our needs were met, all questions were answered and that we were leaving that day with a new vehicle and a great experience. It takes many team members to make a dealership successful and complete the car buying transaction. For me and my family, Chris “Wheelz" Simpson is the face of the Oxmoor team. Without a doubt, the best car buying experience I ever had was with my dealings with Chris Simpson. In the past, I was never quite sure of either thing - never felt quite right. He definitely took the "sleaze" out of the buying experience. In fact, in shopping the price that Chris had quoted me over the phone, another Toyota dealer was quick to tell me that no way could I get the car for that price. That if I could get the car at the quoted price that it was a great deal and no way could he match it. I absolutely would recommend Oxmoor Toyota for your next car purchase and please ask for Chris Simpson. I can't imagine that you wouldn't end up feeling like I did - that you finally found a car salesperson that you could trust. More
Researched vehicle to be purchased. Settled on Toyota Hybrid Limited Highlander with a certain color hard to get. Then set out for the best deal given what our family specifications were. Tried every dealer in the state of Tennessee, KY, Virginia, and western North Carolina. Really attempted to buy local, that is, Knoxville, TN. Fox Toyota was real proud of their museum of new Toyotas. Airport Toyota could not be trusted. Toyota of Knoxville entombed you, attempted every trick in the book to make you buy “todays only deal’’ (first list price, then invoice plus $1500). Then would not let you leave without purchasing a vehicle. Toyota of Morristown (overall great people) but lacked follow-up to close a purchase. Others did not have inventory or would not try to service the customer. Then actually tried to purchase a vehicle at Toyota of Louisville. But again, they lacked follow-up. Then tried Oxmoor Toyota. They had the price, could get the exact vehicle that met our specifications, and the salesperson. That person for a deal and that will treat you like your next door neighbor that you give your house keys to when you are gone on vacation is, Mr. Kim Clay, Oxmoor Toyota Internet Sales Manager. Bottom line, Oxmoor Toyota got our business because of price, quality of service, and Kim’s determination to please the customer. Oxmoor’s deal beat others by approximately $1000. I had to drive over 325 miles one way to deal. Most of our communication with Kim was e-mail and phone. No need to bargain. His price is bottom line. You will be a fool to question it. I did not and won big. Given the cash for clunkers, $1000 Toyota rebate, and the Oxmoor Price (invoice minus dealer holdback); that a deal in my book. Especially compared to Consumer Reports and other sites, like Edmunds, and KBB "deals." I am just a hard working American trying to make a living, looking for an extreme deal. I did for over two months and Oxmoor won my business. If you are smart, do not waste you time. Just call Kim (by the way, I am not related to him and never met Kim until the first phone call). By the way, if you look at the BBB, you will not like what you see regarding Oxmoor. Forget the BBB reports since it is based on old data (greater than three years old). My suggestion is what you need to focus on is the way Kim and how the Oxmoor Toyota staff will serve you. My STRONG recommendation - call Kim Clay at (502) 377-7221 and get started. I did and won. Overall good experience. Kim Clay was easy to work with and he fulfilled his promises as part of the sale. I feel that the price I paid for the vehicle was fair, although the dealership "fees" are excessi and he fulfilled his promises as part of the sale. One suggestion would be to have better access to prior service records. I was not able to access the vehicles service history from the saleman. It seems as if the service dept. is a separate entity from the sales dept. Also, I enjoyed working with Mr. Clay because I did not feel pressured during the deal. I knew which vehicle I wanted and a ballpark price range. I do not finance vehicles, so I was prepared to write a check for the vehicle I chose. Overall, I had a good experience with Oxmoor Toyota and Mr. Clay. He followed through on some repairs I requested, although it did require multiple visits back to the dealership after the sale. More
