We had been searching for a very specific Toyota truck for approximately 18 months. We finally found it via the internet and began a conversation (via phone and email) with Tyrone Cottrell. Tyrone was r for approximately 18 months. We finally found it via the internet and began a conversation (via phone and email) with Tyrone Cottrell. Tyrone was responsive to our requests for information and pictures of the truck. Based on our conversation and pictures we felt we had found the truck for us. But because we live south of Atlanta and the dealership is in Louisville, Kentucky, we were apprehensive about travelling that far to purchase a vehicle sight unseen. We were able to strike a deal over the telephone and Tyrone emailed the necessary documents to secure our financing with our local credit union. We booked our flight and flew to Louisville. Tyrone picked us up at the airport and drove us to the dealership where the truck was waiting - exactly as presented via photos and email. I must say we were nervous about buying a vehicle this way, but Tryone made the process very smooth. He was responsive, he did what he said he would, and there were no surprises. I would absolutely recommend Tyrone Cottrell as a saleman to anyone looking to purchase a new Toyota, even if you live 500 miles away! More

I came to Oxmoor Toyota on Sunday afternoon to test drive potential vehicles with low gas mileage, an affordable payment, and a large enough cargo space to accommodate working out of the vehicle. I was assi potential vehicles with low gas mileage, an affordable payment, and a large enough cargo space to accommodate working out of the vehicle. I was assisted by a very sweet and new employee to this dealership (Daniel) . He worked with me and I began to seriously consider the Toyota Yaris. He began the financial inquiries regarding trade in values, down payments etc. in an effort to determine the monthly payments. On several occasions I indicated that I needed time to consider this purchase, that I wanted to "go home and sleep on it", that I wanted to research this car on consumer reports, and that I was concerned that there wasn't enough trunk space for my work materials. Daniel kept reminding me that it was a great car at a great price with low mpg.... Which was very accurate. However, those factors did not address my concerns regarding the cargo space required for my job! I felt like I was on a roller coaster! I mentioned my reservations again as the roller coaster continued into the financing and purchase of the car. I didn't know how to stop the process and felt like I wasn't really being heard. I began emptying my work materials out of my SUV and transferring them into the Yaris. What used to fit in the trunk of my car was now filling the entire trunk of the Yaris, the back seat and the floor behind the front seats. I again voiced my concerns and went further to inquire "what happens tomorrow when this car does not meet my work needs?" -as it was plainly obvious there was not enough space to work from my car! Daniel assured me that "they" wanted me to be happy with my purchase, to call him and they would work with me. While this was reassuring, I truly drove off the lot, already with buyers remorse. I was sick to my stomach! This was my first new car purchase, and I think I just wasn't heard. That night and the next day I tried to rearrange my belongings in the car to no avail. I called Daniel and he said he would talk to a manager but he was with a customer. He did reassure me again. However, when I didn't hear back from him that night I was very upset and concerned. The next day after work, I immediately drove to the dealership and Mr. Tyrone Cottrell heard my story and said customer satisfaction was of most importance, and he would do whatever it took to make things right. While I was initially uncertain, Mr. Cotttell kept his word and worked with me in finding a car that truly met my needs. He said that it would be "right" this time and I was encouraged to take as much time as I needed to make a choice/ decision. He said the process would not be rushed or pressured, and if it took returning several times that it would be fine. Needless to say, he and Carolyn helped me find the perfect vehicle- a Scion XD. While it did take several days to complete the process (I finally drove my car off the lot on Thursday night) it was well worth the wait. Tyrone and Carolyn listened and heard me! They were professional and personable. It didn't hurt that they both had a great sense of humor to help get through some of tough spots. In addition, Steve in financing explained everything clearly and thoroughly. While my initial experience left me frustrated and upset, The end result was more than I could have asked for. I will absolutely recommend Oxmoor Toyota in the future. I do believe that customer satisfaction is their true priority!! More
This guy tried to rip my mother off. The car she tried to purcased was denied by the bank and he still tried to make her keep the car. Then lied and said the bank approved the loan. My mother call the ba to purcased was denied by the bank and he still tried to make her keep the car. Then lied and said the bank approved the loan. My mother call the bank and there is absolutly nothing in the system on her. They then threaten her with a repo when the car still belongs to the dealership. This place is a complete ripp off More
On August 15 2012 my husband and I came to Toyota to trade in our 2007 Chysler Pacifiaca for a smaller SUV that had a better gas miliage. My husband had found a 2005 Mercury Mainer on the lot and talked trade in our 2007 Chysler Pacifiaca for a smaller SUV that had a better gas miliage. My husband had found a 2005 Mercury Mainer on the lot and talked with Derrick Spratt about the car, after that conversation we decided that we would drive down to Louisville from Shelbyville to check the car out in person. At the time of our arrival Derick Spratt was with another customer so he ask Andrew Jackson to take over the sale for him. We ended up coming to a deal with Toyota and buying the car. With that we were under and understanding that the car had gone through a certification process so that we could have an "transmission warranty" and that the stuff was in the car already. The night we drove the car home August 15, we found there was NO WARRANTY with the car and that the car had some cosmetic things that we had as to be fix however never recieved the paper work stating that it would be taken care of, I drove the car back to Toyota on August 16 to try and take of the misunderstandings, my husband had been trying to get a hold of Andrew Jackson and Derrick Spratt to let them know that I was on my way and to try and work it out with them before I got there. When I got there I ended up talking with Terry Boardman I tried to explain the issues and instead Terry Boardman conduct was un-called for, he said that Toyota didn't need to do any thing and it was our problem, at that point I became very adjatated we didn't even have the car for 24 hours. As I was waiting Derrick Spratt came over to see what he could do, he explained that he would work something out and he was sorry for the misunderstanding that had happened. The solution that he came up with was to put us in another car that would offer a warrenty however we liked the Mainer. Derrick Spratt then told me to go get some lunch then come back and he would have a soulution worked out. When I came back Derrick Spratt said that he found another Mainer on your Ford lot that was the same thing, same miliage and newer year, probably nicer then the one we were currently in. My husband told Derrick to go head and switch us into that car and they were offering a warrenty with that. I then waited and waited Derrick Spratt then call and said he was at the Ford Dealer waiting for them to finish inspecting the car and asked if I could come back the next day and he would have everything ready and waiting, I explained that it would be very hard due to one of our son's has therapy but I would make time and be there, by the time I left on August 16 I had been there form 9am until 5pm. August 17 my husband and I both went down to Toyota to pick up this other car we had an appointment at 2pm we got there at 2pm my husband had took time off of work to do this. When we got there nothing was ready Steve Wittaker didn't even know to start the paper work unitl we walked in, we waited as Steve Wittaker tried to get the paper work done to get us out of there. As things finished up Derrick Spratt said he was going back to Ford to get the 2nd key for the car and he would be back as we then got to see this car it was a complete down grade from the current one we were in. The leather had holes in it, the head liner was falling down, you couldn't see the symboles on the buttons to see what they meet etc. I waited for 2 hours as the receptionist tried to get a hold of Derrick Spratt, Derrick never answered his phone or came back to the dealer. At that point the receptionist called in a manager because I was then crying from being pushed around or treated like we didn't matter. My husband who took are boys home because I had another appointment that was missed to this was then called and angry for how we were being treated (its is very hard to upset or make him angry.) At this point Tyrone Cottrell stepped in he and another manager compared the two cars and saw the difference. Tyrone Cottrell then sat down with me to see what had all happened and what he could do to help. He was able to then get the stuff fixed and said he would be able to get a warranty on the car like it was no problem. In the mean time he and serveral other people/ managers were trying to get a hold of Derrick Spratt and could not. As they were trying to work the problems out Steve Wittaker took the time to sit and talk with me while I waited, very kind. Tyrone Cottrell keep trying to get a hold of Derick Spratt who took the keys to "both" cars in that time frame my sugar dropped pretty low and Tyrone Cottrell and one of the receptionist ran and got me some orange juice to help. Since no one could get a hold of Derrick Spratt, Tyrone Cottrell then put me in a loaner car so that I could get home it was then 9pm at night. That night I didn't get home until 9:30. The next day August 18 Tyrone Cottrell had gotten the keys and waited for my husband who left work to talk with him about the loan and the issues that happening. Tyrone Cottrell talked with my husband then went and got Johnny Pittman and Steve Wittaker who were able to give us a better warranty and able to find us a better loan rate which helped us out. With our disabled son they understood it's hard on us money wise. As we then came to an agreement Tyrone Cottrell took the time to get our stuff into the other car and as my husband was signing with Steve Whittaker Johnny Pittman took the time to help me put the car seats for my boys in the other car. We recently have been trying to call and see if the parts for the car were in and my husband kept getting the run around. In that time we found out that the car we traded in was not fully paid off. Tyrone Cottrell had contacted on September 11 2012 to see if the car had gotten fixed I explained that my husband had been trying to call and get it taken care of and that no one seem to know what he was talking about. Tyrone Contrell then said he was going to check into it and that same day called me back to tell me the parts were ordered on Wed. September 12 Tyrone Contrell called to set up our appointment for Thursday morning to get everything fixed. Also on Thursday September 13 Johnny Pittman took time out to talk with me to fix the pay off for Capital One and to have the warranty information fixed to what our agreement was. All of this caused my husband to miss work and for our son to miss importan appointments, not only all of the stress. The ONLY reason that we are willing to come back to Toyota which is plan to is because of Tyrone Cottrell, Johnny Pittman and Steve Whittaker, in our opion since they went above and beyond we feel they should get a bonus or somthing. Because of them they truned and horrible experice into a good one and are still willing to help us or check and see how were doing. We are great full for them. They are also the only reason I would send people Toyota's way and it would be to see these man or why this we gave the ratings we did. Thank you Tyrone Cottrell, Steve Whittaker and Johnny Pittman for taking the time and going above and behind. Desiree and Chris Fenner More
