Some one in you customer service dept has this already? 3-29-2023 To the customer service department. Vin KMTFN4JB6LU337581 PAUL LICHTEFELD. My father, all excited about his new Genesis G80 Car, Shipped it up here from Florida to Kentucky. I just met the shipping service, picked up the car, and drove it two miles to his house. When I got out of the car the engine was smoking and smelt like burnt rubber or actually it smelled more like brake pads were burning. I called Hyundai of Oxmoor Louisville, to set up an appointment. It took me two weeks to get an appointment. Brought the car over on the 29th to check out the situation i.e. brake smell, burning smell. The serviceman had the car on the 29th from 1:00p o'clock till 4:00p. He calls me and says he can't find anything wrong with the car. I asked him if he drove the car. He said no, there's no tags on it. I asked him if he couldn't get a temporary tag to drive the car around the block. It's only going to take 10 minutes to drive it and then you'll see the problem. He said he couldn't do that. I asked why not? He said it was because I didn’t buy it from Oxmoor? I said did you run a full diagnostics on the car? He Said no He can only check out what I told him to check because the car is under warranty. Really, I’ m not a mechanic, I've never heard of such nonsense in my life. Here’s a service guy who doesn’t run a full diagnostic after it takes so long to get into the service apt.? My father goes out and buys a top of the line Hyundai and this is the service he gets? It takes weeks to get an appointment and that’s it, YOUR GUY tell me to bring it back later after I get a license tag? For a top-of-the-line car we sure aren’t getting top-of-the-line-service. This guy is telling me I have to wait another four weeks to get an appointment so he can check out the brakes when he drives it? I then asked him, if he checked out the warning signal on the dash. He said he can't check anything out other than what I asked him to check out because the car is under warranty. Again, this is another ludicrous comment for him to make. If the smell is coming from the brakes or under the hood maybe the “warning sign” on the dash tells him what the problem is? I can't believe I was having this conversation with your service department. Whatever happened to customer service? This is a brand new car, 19,000 miles on it. It's got some of a type of a burning brake pad smell. It's got a warning light that's on the dashboard. It's in your shop. You can't get appointments for four in five weeks. It's absolutely ridiculous that service wouldn't check everything out while it’s there? I don't know why you can't put a “temporary dealer tag” on the car to drive it around the block. I could have sent you the bill of sale if you needed it. It’s not rocket science here. The car is under warranty, it’ in your shop, find out what’s wrong with it and fix it. Now we are inconvenienced to have to come back and make another appointment four weeks down the road. I am afraid to drive the car now? Are we supposed to keep driving it until something seriously goes wrong with it? I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy a Hyundai with this kind of service. VERY disappointed customer.
