We had an excellent car-buying experience at Ourisman Volvo of Bethesda, MD. David Engel, our sales representative, was very knowledgeable about the various cars, explained the features and showed us the Volvo of Bethesda, MD. David Engel, our sales representative, was very knowledgeable about the various cars, explained the features and showed us the available options. We took a test drive in the car we were interested in where David showed us how to operate various features. At no time was there any pressure to buy. The process was more consultative than sales oriented. We feel that we received a fair value for our trade-in. Overall, David made the entire process as painless as a car-buying experience could be. We would highly recommend David to anyone interested in purchasing a Volvo. More

I don’t normally write reviews but this is different. I had a horrific experience at Volvo Bethesda in November 2022 during a tire replacement. I gave up because it wasn’t worth the time to call and leav I had a horrific experience at Volvo Bethesda in November 2022 during a tire replacement. I gave up because it wasn’t worth the time to call and leave messages and wait for callbacks because they weren’t happening (and it was implied I was lying and trying to scam them over). I only share my experience on here in the hopes of preventing others to go through the same thing that I went through. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. On Friday, November 11th, I got a flat tire on my way to work. Roadside Assistance put a spare on and I went searching for a place who had the tire in stock. I called Volvo Bethesda Friday afternoon and they had the tire so I made an appointment for Sunday afternoon to come in and have the tire put on. When I arrived on Sunday at 12:40pm, I was immediately told by the front desk person ( I believe the gentleman’s name was Prem) that they were short staffed, and may not be able to accommodate my appointment. I told him that I had spoken to someone on Friday and had confirmed that the tire was in stock and that it should be a pretty quick fix. He told me he would look into it and let me know. I told him I was fine with waiting so I sat in the waiting room and watched tv/worked. Around 2:30pm Prem found me and told me that they would be able to get the new tire on but I might take an hour. “Great“ I said and thanked him. Around 3:45pm, he told me the tire would be on in about 20 minutes and a little after 4pm he told me that the job was done and gave me the paperwork. I gave him my credit card, and I signed the receipt. It was going to cost about $400. (I was aware of the cost ahead of time and was fine with it). Before he walked away I asked him if they offered warranties on tires (I had just had a flat on a different tire 2 months earlier). I had never thought this was something companies offered, but he said they did. He told me if I bought a tire from them that it was covered for two years under a some type of “hazard” warranty. Surprised, I told him that on August 29th I had two tires replaced here, one of them being the flat I incurred on November 11th. He told me he would do a quick confirmation and refund my money. About 10 minutes later, he came back and told me that the tire they replaced was not the same tire that I had put on the end of August. I told him that was impossible. He said the tire “numbers didn’t match”. Since it was about 4:30pm I asked that he have his manager call me Monday morning and we would figure it out then. Monday morning came and went and I never received a call. No call Tuesday or Wednesday, either, so on Thursday, November 17th I called back and spoke to a “Danny”. Danny was a manager and had heard about my situation. He told me it would be an easy fix. I would receive an email the next day with a form that I would need to sign. I’d also get a phone call. He would just need to run it by his boss, and they would submit the refund to the manufacturer and all would be good. I think Danny and told him that he was very good at his job. Friday came and went and I never received an email or call. The following week was Thanksgiving so I gave them time and chalked it up to the holidays. I called back again a week or two later and this time spoke to a different manager. I was told Danny was off. I told my story to this new manager, who seem to vaguely recall my situation. This time I was met with skepticism and told (again) the tire numbers didn’t match. (The implication here being that I had that tire replaced between August 29th and November 11th and was trying to scam over Volvo Bethesda.). I asked this manager (Fred?) to have his boss call me by close of business Friday. Guess what? I never received a call. To this day, I still haven’t received a phone call and the issue remains unresolved. I’ve owned my Volvo for 2 1/2 years (love the car) and plan to keep it for a very long time. What could have been an easy fix to keep a customer and their business will now never happen. I can’t imagine the future money they will lose over 1 tire. Seems like a poor business model. More

I had my car serviced, but the day after it was serviced the “check engine” light came on. It was not on before the servicing. I will have to take it in again to repair something the dealer did wlrong. the “check engine” light came on. It was not on before the servicing. I cannot express my disappointment with our experience at Ourisman Volvo Bethesda. We have owned Volvos for over 7 years now and we were very excited to purchase a new 2023 Volvo XC90, and after a lot of res Ourisman Volvo Bethesda. We have owned Volvos for over 7 years now and we were very excited to purchase a new 2023 Volvo XC90, and after a lot of research, found the car we wanted on the lot. Initially, I had a very pleasant experience and was able to negotiate an agreeable price. Once that agreement was made, our service went completely downhill. Even after our salesman finished showing us some of the features in the car, he did not say anything to indicate we were all set, certainly did not shake our hand and say thank you for our business- he just turned around and walked away- to the point my husband and I had to walk inside and ask if we were done. I did not feel the need to do an inch by inch inspection of a brand new luxury vehicle, but that was a mistake. We drove the car off the lot and when we arrived home (over an hour away), we noticed a large dent in our trunk that someone clearly backed into something, and a scratch on the front bumper. This is how our car was sold to us, and no one took any accountability. Instead, I was told by our salesman when I spoke to him the next day, that it didn't matter I spent almost $70,000 on a new vehicle, I could've spent $100,000 on a new Range Rover these things "just happen". Then, when our brand new car is brought back to us, the scratch on the front bumper did not get repaired. My texts about ensuring it was fixed went unanswered, and instead of calling us to tell us that in order to fix the scratch they would have to replace the entire bumper (which they "would not do"), they returned the car to us with the scratch STILL THERE and surprised us with the news. So instead of writing an almost $70,000 check and getting a new vehicle we were looking forward to owning, we were given a damaged car and atrocious customer service. I could not recommend Ourisman any less. More
