The finance manager, Kamran, was also very professional and pleasant to work with; he explained the numbers carefully and got us a great deal. We feel confident in the decision we ultimately made, in part because the process was so transparent and we could take our time to make sure we understtod the details and were making an informed decision. . The System is Broken “Good night.” That was the one word retort I got from Gordy, the General Sales Manager at Ourisman Rockville as he abruptly walked off after I explain “Good night.” That was the one word retort I got from Gordy, the General Sales Manager at Ourisman Rockville as he abruptly walked off after I explained that I had hoped for the actual price they quoted online (via TruCar), the 0 percent financing offered on the manufacturer’s website, and a fair amount for my trade in. Apparently, his rude walk-off is all part of games played in the business of selling cars. Good cop/bad cop is used over and over again. Your salesman is your friend helping you navigate the grumpy managers. The next day I drove off with my new VW and got the quoted price, 0.9% financing, and close to what I expected for my trade-in. A fair deal and a great car, but the car buying experience is truly one of the worst customer experiences out there—no wonder it’s been more than a decade since I bought my last car. The amount of dishonest attempted manipulations to get me to part with more of my cash was astounding (and stressful). I don’t know if this is specific to Ourisman Rockville, but my experience met all the negative stereotypes of the industry. Here are a few examples that I have to call B.S. on. Once I arrived at the dealership, I was told the printed quote I had from Ourisman included a $500 veterans’ discount that didn’t apply to me. I was offered less than 50% of the fair market value for my trade-in. I was told it was impossible to receive both the price offered and the 0% financing. I spent many unnecessary hours at the dealership—seems they believe the more personal time you’ve invested, the less likely you are to walk away. The updated quote I received the next day had a $500 error on it in the dealership’s favor—I’m now supposed to trust that was an honest mistake? After finalizing the deal with the salesperson, the financing guy tried to claim that tax was on top of the price instead of included as agreed. He also tried to up the financing from 0.9 to 0.99%--just another way they try to nickel-and-dime you along with the hard press to get you to purchase pricey care packages for your new car. Even though the outcome was a new car at a fair price—the experience for someone who doesn’t like to haggle with people trying to gouge them was the pits. I hope when I buy my next car the whole industry has evolved and I can purchase direct from the manufacturer because the current system is broken. More

Great hospitality! Great deal! I visited Ourisman Rockville intending to test drive a VW Golf GTI and the Mazda 3. I was trading in my 2007 Mini CooperS convertible--looking for a I visited Ourisman Rockville intending to test drive a VW Golf GTI and the Mazda 3. I was trading in my 2007 Mini CooperS convertible--looking for a compact, sporty alternative with a manual transmission. Jimmy Alegre, the sales representative, was very knowledgeable and helpful in pointing our the differences between the two cars and guiding me towards the GTI. I drove the autobahn with performance package and fell in love! Jimmy and the whole finance team worked with me to get a great deal and I drove home that night with my new night blue metallic GTI with all the bells and whistles. Jimmy has offered to answer any ongoing questions this grandma has--particularly when it comes to the technology. What more could I ask for??? More

I got to the dealership about an hour before they opened so I could take a look at the vehicle I saw on the internet. I was greeted by Jimmy Alegre at the front door. He was there a little before opening. He went over the vehicle with me and did a great job. He knows his product and is very professional. I also had an opportunity to work with the Sales Manager, Ali Torabi, who was also a pleasure to work with. I would totally hire both of these guys if I owned a dealership. I purchased a 2015 VW TDI (used). I love the car! I would defiantly recommend this dealership and the sales person Jimmy Alegre. More

Do NOT Buy a car from this dealership These people are crooks. I called early in the morning with a True Car quote from another dealership. I was very specific about what the terms of th These people are crooks. I called early in the morning with a True Car quote from another dealership. I was very specific about what the terms of the other dealership's offer was. I was told, "We will definitely match that True Car quote." I went in and found nothing but chaos. The salesperson had written his notes on a piece of paper that he had stuffed into a drawer with piles of other paper. When he did finally did find proof of his commitment to me (which the sales manager intimated didn't exist at all as if I had made it up), there ensued over an entire hour's worth of haggling that was unparalleled in my contract negotiation experience. Not only did the salesman and sales manager tag team each other, each trying to renegotiate the original terms, but stooped so low as to create a bid sheet on which they added a thousand dollars "by accident." Their tactics were literally criminal. We left the dealership after it became clear that there was no way they were going to honor their commitment, went to their parking lot, called the Ourisman VW dealership in Bethesda, had the MOST wonderful conversation with Matt, their internet sales manager, drove in and just over one hour later drove out with the car that we wanted, at a fair and reasonable price. Do not, do not, do not, go to Ourisman in Rockville. Drive 5 miles south and go to the dealership in Bethesda. There is no place, in this day and age, for scams, hijinks, manipulation, and flat out deception when buying a car. More
