Congressional Motors is very conveniently located on the corner of Rockville Pike and Wootton Parkway in MD, which happens to be within a 5 mile radius of where I live. This saved me hours of time NOT having to drive 30-100 miles away in search of a good deal on a new car. Traditionally, I find that the car buying experience requires a lot of time haggling and can become a trying experience. I'm in my 40's and have purchased half a dozen new cars in my life, so even with a little experience under my belt, the "old" gambits car salesmen can use can test even the most even tempered person's patience. YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THIS AT CONGRESSIONAL. Every person that assisted me did so professionally, candidly, and frankly, with a smile. Imagine that, finding truly friendly people that treat you with respect and kindness. I can't say enough good things about Mr. Ray. He is genuinely a nice guy that listens to what you say and then does whatever is within his power to accommodate you. To say that he will go the extra mile is an understatement. Simply put, because of the service that he provided, Congressional Motors made the sale. Obviously, I strongly recommend talking to Ray. I also have to give proper thanks to Mr. Joseph, who was the first sales person that assisted me but introduced me to Mr. Ray, as Mr. Joseph was assisting another customer at the time. I'm sure each salesman would like to "make the sale", but it was very professional of him to find another salesperson to assist me so I didn't have to wait. He was also friendly and very easy to talk to, i.e., no high or low pressure sales tactics. Mr. Dana, in finance, was also easy to work with and explained everything very clearly and patiently. He is another professional. If you have read this far, then you have probably gathered that I had a good car buying experience at Congressional and would highly recommend them and the people mentioned above. Having said that, if you don't do your own research in advance on the car that you wish to purchase and come in prepared knowing what you CAN spend, then your car buying experience may vary. Again, Mr. Ray is the best. Mr. Joseph is great. And, Mr. Dana is a pleasure to work with. You're probably wondering what I ended up purchasing. Just an awesome 2011 Jetta SportWagen TDI. That's right, it's a diesel and a hatchback. I was cross shopping a Prius III package 5, which is a nice car (lots of toys) but just doesn't have the power the TDI has. The driving experience is like night and day. But to each, their own. If you visit Congressional, please tell them Copper Red Miata with 18k sent you. Sigh, I'll miss that trade in. More

My boyfriend and I definitely shopped around the Virginia / Maryland area for our next car. We had two cars to trade in which was a challenge for some dealerships to manage. Also, trading in two cars - at other dealerships - provided an opportunity for the dealerships to lowball us on the trade-in value. Congressional was different. Congressional was professional, friendly, and quick. We knew what we wanted and were willing to wait until the numbers made sense to us. Victor, our salesman, was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and honest. When we were done with the initial details with Victor we were passed off to Jay and after dealing with such an amazing employee with Victor I was nervous the caliber of employee would drop. You can’t have two extremely amazing people, can you? Well, Congressional does. Jay was funny, detail oriented, quick, and knowledgeable. After all the paperwork was finished and we were out the door with our new car I was inclined to hug both Victor and Jay. They both felt like friends by the end. We got the price we wanted, the experience we craved, and the customer service that I thought wasn't possible anymore.
