"Jose" @ Congressional called to say that the Jetta needed a new ECP unit, and while he was going to be doing repairs, it was a good idea to replace the timing belt, water pump. Jose indicated that these repairs would cost about $2,000. On Thursday, June 23rd, I was told the repairs had been completed. I attempted to pickup my Jetta on June 25th, after paying $2000 for the repair. However, as soon as I began moving it was obvious that the transmission was still unable to shift out of first gear. I return the car to Congressional service department, where no-one knew why they had just billed me for $2,000 in needless/useless repairs. It is apparent that Congressional Service Department is both greedy for pushing unsuspecting customers into repairs which are not needed and incompetent is that they do not bother to check if the cars they release are in fact repaired. As of this writing, my Jetta continues to be in the Congressional shop. Congressional has not given me any idea of when the repair might be completed nor have they offered my a loaner vehicle during the extended time period that is taking to repair my vehicle. More
I was greeted immediately before going in and keep within realistic means for what I was looking for. I was treated well, they worked with my limitations and left happy. I especially was happy about the fact realistic means for what I was looking for. I was treated well, they worked with my limitations and left happy. I especially was happy about the fact that I walked in knowing what I wanted, the salesman listening carefully and did not try to oversell me or convince to go beyond my means. More
I took in my vehicle for service and my experience could not have been worse. When they initially returned my car the interior trim was not installed correctly (loose) and the air conditioner vents did not not have been worse. When they initially returned my car the interior trim was not installed correctly (loose) and the air conditioner vents did not work. Following the needed repairs I had to take in my vehicle a total of three times to have items fixed that were not correctly installed during the initial repairs. I've never seen worse quality workmanship than with my experience at this dealer. To make matters worse they seemed only mildly apologetic. If I had done the same quality work for a customer of mine I would be ashamed and embarrassed. More
Please avoid this dealership if you can! Ray was great at first, he went on and on about how much I would enjoy my new bluetooth since Maryland has such strict hands free laws. Once I got home I was eager to first, he went on and on about how much I would enjoy my new bluetooth since Maryland has such strict hands free laws. Once I got home I was eager to hook up my bluetooth and try it out... Turns out that while there is indeed a bluetooth icon on the steering wheel it is not installed in the car. I left several messages and stopped by the dealership to no avail. I have yet to receive a phone call back and I am still left without a working bluetooth. Save yourself the headache and buy your next car elsewhere. More

Calvin immediately offered to help us, and was most professional and patient, humoring us through our protracted indecision. Calvin had a friendly and relaxed demeanor—sort of the antithesis of the archetypal car salesman. We were given a very competitive price, and Calvin and Dana worked to get us 0% financing. We were even given a decent trade-in offer for our old car, though we ultimately declined. We're pretty thrilled with our new Mazda 3, and would definitely recommend Congressional Motors. More
The sales person (Victor) was very helpful, answered all our questions, knew the vehicles, and most importantly didn't try to sell us "up" to a more expensive model. Would definitely recommend to anyone. our questions, knew the vehicles, and most importantly didn't try to sell us "up" to a more expensive model. Would definitely recommend to anyone. The sales managers (Leo and Carlos) are dishonest, rude, and extremely unprofessional. However, the salesman (Ray) was a very nice man, but he evidently does not have any decision-making power. I purchase and extremely unprofessional. However, the salesman (Ray) was a very nice man, but he evidently does not have any decision-making power. I purchased a Base VW Jetta SE and realized the next day that I needed the one with a convenience package due to the bluetooth feature that is encouraged in both Maryland and DC. Consequently, I called them the next day and asked them whether they would swap the car for a higher model and I told them I would pay the difference in the MSRP. They wanted me to take about a 10% depreciation on the day-old Jetta, the MSRP difference, additional processing fees, taxes, and tags again. Most dealerships who value customer service would cancel a one-day old contract so that the customer does not have to pay taxes and fees for a second time. So I called the VW in Springfield (salesman Paul Park), he told me on the phone he would do it for just the MSRP difference plus taxes and tags. I can understand that a different dealership would charge taxes as they did not sell me the original car day before. However, they did not ask me to take a hit on the depreciation of $1500.00, but simply asked me to pay the difference in the MSRP prices. Do you not think that the original dealer should have done the same, especially when one has purchased the car there? The VW dealership in Springfield was very professional and honest and did everything exactly the way the explained it to me the previous day. I spent less than 30 minutes at VW Springfield rather than 4 hours at VW Congressional. I called the sales manager (Leo) and told him that VW springfield was honoring the deal that I had asked him about. He said that they probably needed to make their volume numbers and that he did not. However in my opinion, this is primarily a matter of customer service (which is determined by post-sales experiences, which SUCKED at CONGRESSIONAL VW). Other than Ray (salesman) who was a true gentlemen, everyone at Congressional was down right dishonest, rude, and unprofessional! Lastly, when I initially called Leo to confirm the deal, he said that normally, all the cars have less than 30 miles, but that this one had 43 miles. This was a LIE; when I took the delivery, I found out that in fact, the car had 168 miles on it (a far cry from the usual 30 miles or less). STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP; THEIR CUSTOMER SERIVICE SUCKS AND THE DEALERSHIP IS RUN BY DISHONEST MANAGEMENT. It is better to pay a couple hundred dollars more if other dealerships value CUSTOMER SERVICE and maintain friendly, professional attitudes. I hope that the owner of this dealership is made aware of my negative experience with Leo and Carlos at Congressional VW. More
