I first went to a dealer who I had bought three new cars from. Told him I wanted a 2010 Ridgeline. He didn’t have one and quoted me a price on a 2011. He didn’t even offer to try to find a 2010. Not much of a discount plus the $500 documentation fee. Yep, $500. Decided I would never pay another $500 fee. Anyway, went to his competitor. He gave me an OK deal but wouldn’t move off of the $500 fee. Soooooooooo, I started looking at dealer inventories in Maryland. Somehow ended up at Shockley. A gentlemen engaged me in conversation on their site. Told him what I wanted and he referred me to Emily Moore who handles their Internet sales. As she wasn’t in I left her a message and requested a price to be sent by e-mail, which she did. Though she didn’t have 2010s in stock, she said she’d try to find me one. I gave her a deposit and she found me a car. I had to drive four plus hours to get to her dealership. However, it was definitely worth the drive. She gave me what I think is a great price and a $100 documentation fee. The car was ready to go when she promised. As Emily was off on Saturday, she had John Kidwell do the paper work and deliver the car. Everything went smoothly. And, a nice surprise, Emily came in on her day off so she could meet me. I will definitely recommended Emily, John, and Shockley to anyone who is interested in buying a Honda. A nice pleasant buying experience with absolutely no hassles. BTW, I live in Virginia Beach. I was in deep trouble. I changed a flat on the road and left my "key" lugnut 150 miles away on the ground beside the road. I needed to get my doughnut off immediately and get my tire fixed and changed but left my "key" lugnut 150 miles away on the ground beside the road. I took a chance and drove to Shockley's service department unannounced and they took me immediately. Service tech Elvis found the right "Key" and removed all my locking lugnuts (one had been severely damaged by the last person to change my tires and it took him half an hour to get it off) without complaining. When I asked to service manager for my ticket so I could pay and leave he replied, "Oh, there's no charge for helping out a Honda owner." I was flabbergasted. I thanked everyone in sight and went on my way. By the way, I did not buy my Element from Shockley, but if their sales office is as customer friendly as their service, I would highly recommend shopping here. Also, if you need an all-around vehicle that you simply cannot hurt no matter what you haul or whatever driving you encounter, get an Element. More
I was looking into buying a Honda Civic and after little research on Edmunds , I sent a price quote requests to honda dealers in the area. Due to professional and straight forward communication from Shockley Honda I made an appointment to visit the dealership. When I arrive at the dealership , I was greeted and introduced to a highly experienced sales person Coy Chaney who handled the entire transaction professionaly and with his knowledge of honda cars, made my experience so far the best one. After a short while , we met our finance manager who handled our financing and explained us about some great services Shockey offers to their loyal customers. for e.g . free car wash for life , first oil change free and service reward program etc..... I wanted to buy from Shockley; they are my neighborhood dealer, and several colleagues recommended them. So perhaps my experience is unusual, but I got much better price quotes from other dealers, and whe dealer, and several colleagues recommended them. So perhaps my experience is unusual, but I got much better price quotes from other dealers, and when I brought the quotes to Shockley, they still wouldn't come within $1200 of the best price. I should be clear that during my two visits I dealt with Bill, who was very friendly, and when he didn't know the answers to my questions, he found them quickly. But any time I talked price, he had to "go talk to the manager", and negotiation didn't seem to go anywhere. Probably most frustrating was that I couldn't get an explanation for how they were coming to their price. I knew what invoice was, I knew factory-to-dealer incentives, and so I thought my offer was reasonable, and if it wasn't I never found out why. In any case, I got the car for my price at another dealer. More
I sent out a request for quote on a 2011 Ridgline and after 2 days with no response I emailed again and got a response from Charlie with a quote. I wouldnt bother with this place. More

My entire experience with Shockley Honda was a very positive one. From my first visit to the showroom when I met Juan for the first time, until I drove my new car out of the lot I felt like I was trea positive one. Juan was an outstanding sales person, he listened to what I wanted and didn't try to pressure me into anything, no games, just honest communication. He didn't talk down to me because I was a woman, and I know that isn't always the case. He responded very promptly to all of my communications, either by phone or email and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. He was friendly and professional. Our Finance person was very courteous and extremely efficient, had us in and out in record time. One other person that I want to mention is Renda Reed. She truly is a gem! She was very helpful in showing me around and introducing me to our Service Advisor, Chris, and she gave me a lot of general information about Shockley. I honestly felt like I left with a new friend. So thank you Juan, and everyone at Shockley for a great car buying experience. I will definitely recommend you to my friends and family. More

Emily answered all my questions promptly so decided to make the drive. Once there, the sales process went smoothly with no surprises and we were not high pressured into options we didn't want. Coy patiently worked with us to go over the features of the vehicle. Overall, very satisfied and worth the drive to Frederick for anyone in the VA/MD/DC area. More
